  1. For real, sounds like we lucked out on that one.
  2. They even respected pedestrians this time around hah
  3. More lanes don't necessarily alleviate traffic problems, and frankly we've spent enough money expanding the road networks to account for folks moving further and further away from the core. PS- Traffic is nothing compared to most cities, yet we act like it's a major problem here when your commute goes from 30 minutes to 45. I'm sorry (maybe it's because I'm not caffenated enough right now), but we need more money for public transit, regional trains, and bike/ped infrastructure, not more and more lanes to a problem that barely exists.
  4. Okay, but what does that dork of a 'relocation expert' have to say? That's all I want to know.
  5. There looks to potentially be a fire situation at 140 PS (the Park Building), it seemed to be winding down around 2p, and listening to the scanner they were doing floor checks. I swear half of CPD responded- 3 alarm fire. More info: https://www.cleveland19.com/2019/11/07/crews-respond-reported-fire-building-clevelands-public-square/
  6. Looks like Bloom might not be gone for long: Bloom Bakery said it will shut down, but its original co-founders, backed by investors, want to take over and revive it https://www.crainscleveland.com/retail/bloom-bakery-said-it-will-shut-down-its-original-co-founders-backed-investors-want-take-over

This Planetizen brief gives some links to transit measures that have passed. Locally, Lake County passed a $.25 sales tax increase for LakeTran: https://www.planetizen.com/blogs/107068-election-2019-planning-and-development-related-results-roundup
  8. ...or the browns going 0-16 ? Go Bills! And go SHW/Cle!!!
  9. This will be a bit less missed: https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2019/11/hotspot-cafe-is-closing-this-week-in-cleveland.html Although, if you're staying at the Hilton Garden (thanks @mrclifton88), it sure is a deadzone for being located in the city. And lol at this comment, foodies come from thousands of miles to go to Hotspot Cafe:
  10. The optimist in me wants to believe there's some master plan for these spaces, but who knows. There's no reason that one of the busiest spots in downtown should have such a large number of vacancies. If we lose Taco Bell we know there's a problem lol
  11. Bloom Bakeries are closing today: https://bloombakery.com/announcement/
  12. Or the worlds first subterranean corescraper.
  13. RUSSIA IF YOU ARE LISTENING FIND THIS ARTICLE...lol
  14. Check the Beacon's facebook page - they just reposted a video from Dan DeRoos at Ch19 touring the rooftop patio/lounge. I'd link it, but I'm on my work computer..
  15. These folks work quick!
  16. Same, I wonder if they plan on resurfacing the entire crossing with this work planned? That could somewhat account for the holdup, but alas, for the average joe, cycling season is over, and this section still isn't complete.
  17. What other company would be capable of building a transformative Key Tower equivalent? I'm most likely wrong, but i don't see any NEO companies that are capable for a looong time. I know this is the shw thread but idk I'm cool with a campus that's OPEN and not closed off. Taller isn't always better, the denser downtown feels, the better.
  18. I'll set up the gofundme lol
  19. My girlfriend and I had a similar 'stumble-upon' experience last year. She works for CleMag and was able to set up an interview and photos, pretty cool story! https://clevelandmagazine.com/in-the-cle/articles/forget-transformers-tim-willis'-robots-are-real
  20. I haven't seen any other ones other than the Costco trip, and holy crap was that a good one. Looking forward to this one!

In case folks don't venture over to port news on here, just wanted to X-post a picture of the navy ship that's currently in town! USS Indianapolis.
