Cincinnati: College Hill / Mt. Airy: Development and News
It seems like the retail portion of the Marlow Court project is not doing all that well. I think there is a bank and the fitness outfit and thats all. Here’s to hoping the College Station ground level retail will fair a bit better. also, I am excited for the Sleepy Bee cafe which is set to open in College Hill. Glad its going into a rehabbed space in the heart of the neighborhood business district.

Cincinnati: Before and After Photos of Over-the-Rhine
I feel that Green Street at Pleasant has seen a lot of revitalization, and not too sketchy to walk. Whenever out of town friends visit I give a walking tour starting At the market and we walk down Pleasant all the way to Washington Park. Its a great walk and the murals just keep getting better and better.

This is honestly nicer than what you would get in Northside now at the same price point. this will sell above asking. pending after this weekend.

Cincinnati: Northside: Development and News
Yes, its certainly interesting that the commercial space will be kept. Its hard to imagine what would do well there. They will only have 2 parking spots off street. I guess a small coffee shop or something. The same developer who is doing the Row House conversion recently sold 1320 ApJones for just under 450k and 1318 ApJones for nearly 460k. https://www.sibcycline.com/Listing/CIN/1656712/1318-Apjones-Street-Northside-OH-45223

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
As prompted by KJP, I wrote my state Rep Cecil Thomas. His response: Thank you for writing to my office. I support any additional funding for public transit in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, and Ohio. Our state has not progressed the way it should have in this area and transit across Ohio should be more than just our highways. I will be advocating for funding in the upcoming budget to hopefully bring the Amtrak plan to fruition. Best, Senator Thomas No response from Gov DeWine’s office yet.

Should someone notify the American Sign Museum that “The Chong Inc” might be available to add to their collection ?

Cincinnati: Northside: Development and News
Its not just a bad dining room table choice. I think the whole of the staging is of poor taste. Maybe its just not my style, but a lot of the decor seems bulky, cheap and obtrusive. Not indicative of how someone would actually live in the house. While it is priced high currently, I believe it will sell for close to asking price if it had hit the market in the spring. They might take a lower offer to unload it in the winter months, but I would speculate it would not sell for lower than 420k. Probably closer to 430k. ApJones is a pretty interesting street, it kinda has a neighborhood within a neighborhood feel to it. On related news : 4247 Mad Anthony sold recently for close to 200k as an unfinished on the inside, yet mostly finished on the outside shell. https://goo.gl/maps/cc8ympjKfvM4Mg977 This house had been sitting as a work in progress for years. Just stalled while trying to sell FSBO. They are currently working on a wrap around porch.

Cincinnati: Northside: Development and News
Its to my understanding they will not be 3 stories, rather only 2. Additionally, the same developer is doing the project across the street from the Knowlton Tavern, the one you mention. They might be waiting to start those 3 after KT closes down.

Cincinnati: Northside: Development and News
Does anyone know if the Knowlton Tavern is still open. I thought it was supposed to be shut down by now already. Did they lose their liquor license ? Anyone know what the situation is?

^ these two guys have gone up pretty quick too. I was surprised to see the foundation get installed, and then a week later or so to see the framing rise up. They are not going to be too big, no basement either.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
^ this is very true. I work out of the Gwyenn building on 6th street. The dentist who is located in the same building is retiring because of the ensuing redevelopment. A Lawyer in the building is having a hard time finding comparable office space a rate they find reasonable. The Gwyenn has to be one of the least expensive office buildings downtown.

Cincinnati: Northside: Development and News
Anyone notice that signage is up for "Northside Express" across the street from DoJo. Perhaps this is a smaller scale convenience store filling in a need in the community. This is the same site as the long rumored home of the fabled Northside Applebee's. https://goo.gl/maps/7zuG7SrPF14S3cHZ7

Cincinnati: Northside: Development and News
From my understanding, the whole site was to be redeveloped to include housing and perhaps more retail. I am not sure if the existing Sav-a-lot building is going to be repurposed now.

Cincinnati: Northside: Development and News
So the loss of About Space for bands, coupled with all the single family home renovations in Northside seems to spell the end of an era for Northside as a creative DIY, and music hub. I know of two band practice houses that have gone off line since October. One on ApJones caught fire in a spectacular blaze. Another on Langland, near Junkers, which had the infamous "Jack Shack" off Carrie Alley sold and is currently getting renovated.

Zurich, Switzerland 2019
I am really surprised you found a bar that you described as being similar to MOTR and Northside Tavern in Zurich. Good for you. I've been to quite a few of the principle cities in Switzerland and never came across anything remotely like those establishments. I find Zurich, and Geneva to be clean, accessible, safe, and SUPER EXPENSIVE, but all in all pretty boring. Thanks for sharing your trip through Europe. I've looked at all the photo's you posted. Prague is one of my favorite cities to visit.
