  3. That was my first cooking job back in high school (Parma Heights location). It was also where I first met the former singer of Death of Samantha and Cobra Verde and current PD writer, John Petkovic. In fact, I was there just shy of a month when he convinced the GM to let DoS play a gig there. He was let go shortly after that infamous gig. The place was trashed.
  4. Perhaps that road is required for fire and safety access to those sections of the project.

  10. Interesting visual for the City of Euclid regarding change of home values - I am fairly certain there is not one single home in that lovely shade of rust cutting through the middle of the city. That would be the home of I-90, several rail lines and various industrial business

  14. Glazen wants to 'Eat, Drink, Haggle' As founder of Cleveland-based Glazen Creative Studios, Alan Glazen was behind the camera as a producer of documentary films for business and television for 15 years. Now, as founder of GlazenUrban – an investment and management organization focused on Cleveland neighborhoods and districts – Glazen often finds himself in front of the television cameras, and he’s having a blast. “I used to produce television, but all of a sudden people are producing television with me in it,” he said. “You know, my face is probably better suited for radio. But it’s a lot more fun and a lot easier than being on the other side of the camera.” Glazen’s latest TV appearance was as the local “wingman” for Lara Spencer – a contributor to ABC’s “Good Morning America” and creator, host and executive producer of HGTV’s “Flea Market Flip” – in her new Travel Channel series, “Eat, Drink, Haggle.” The program follows Spencer, known for her love of bargain hunting at flea markets, as she seeks out a city’s best-kept secrets of food, cocktails and flea market deals. In the first episode, which premiered April 21 and has aired several times since, Glazen takes her around Cleveland and shows her what makes the city special. Nobody Pukes Up A Game Quite Like The Raptors By Tom Ley I’m not here to argue that the Raptors’ collapse in Game 1 of their second-round series against the Cavaliers is proof that their 59-win season was totally hollow and that they are in fact fraudulent pretenders unworthy of the No. 1 seed and should be expelled from the NBA so that no one ever again has to spend another second trying to convince themselves that everything we’ve ever known about the Raptors is not true and that, actually, they are good this time. I am not saying any of that. Yet. I am simply here to say that last night’s game presented a breathtaking way to lose a basketball game. I honestly don’t know how they did it! 18. Just found this: Corner Alley Uptown to close in late May; owner says bowling alley isn't profitable The developer behind the Uptown project in University Circle plans to close the Corner Alley, a major retail anchor in the district. MRN, Ltd., the family-owned real estate company that also owns and manages the Corner Alley, said the business started off strong in late 2014 but simply isn't profitable. Bowlers will knock down their final pins at Uptown in late May. ... MRN plans to break up the space, on two levels with a prominent entrance at Ford and Euclid, into four storefronts. A taco-and-tequila joint, from the owners of Tres Potrillos in Beachwood, will be the centerpiece. The developer also has preliminary agreements - letters of intent - with a bank, a cellphone retailer and a fast-casual restaurant that would be new to the market. http://realestate.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2018/05/corner_alley_uptown_to_close_i.html#incart_m-rpt-1
  19. Hopefully something equally speedy here: Corner Alley is closing this May
  20. Changes Coming to Ease International Travel at Hopkins by Nancy Kelsey Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is changing the process for international travelers arriving in Cleveland. The previous process, which has been a sore spot for some passengers, included waiting for all passengers to finish being checked by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) before getting on a shuttle that drops them off at the baggage claim level. Now, passengers will be free to leave the customs area as soon as they are finished with CBP, however they will be subject to reverse screening by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) before entering Concourse A at CLE. The first day for the new process will be April 30, 2018 with United’s flight from Cozumel, Mexico. With the addition of new transatlantic service in May 2018 this new process will allow for more efficient processing through customs. It is important for passengers to know that they will be screened by TSA similar to when they arrive at an airport. That means passengers who may have purchased duty-free beverages will need to put those items into their checked luggage before leaving the customs area as they will not be allowed to take liquids over 3 ounces into the terminal. These changes will apply to all international arrivals which currently include scheduled flights from Cancun, Mexico on Frontier and United, charters from Montego Bay, Jamaica and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic as well as new service from Reykjavik, Iceland on WOW air and Icelandair that begin in May 2018. https://wp.me/p3ipG9-3ck
  21. Hook is a whiny baby We saw the New Order show in Chicago a few years ago. They played a half hour set of just Joy Division music. Amazing. Of course, I understand that may not be the case in a festival setting. Got my single day tickets purchased for Saturday
