If it wasn't for the people here posting pictures and articles, most of this stuff would be lost forever after a few weeks in the "media's" archives. Thanks for posting.

Cleveland: Do you think Clevelanders are too negative about Cleveland?
What Pope said + I imagine, though I have no data to back it up, that most native people in most cities also have a negative view of where they were brought up and believe other cities have it better. The whole "grass is greener" syndrome.

Looks like the IX Center is moving ahead to secure their place at the current location at Hopkins. Something tells me there are some implications for the future CC, but not sure what.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
I hate 19's news style (tabloid, sensationalism, whatever). But I can put up with it to an extent because they give more local news then the networks. I hate turning on 3, 5, or 8 and the lead story is about something that happened in Bucyrus, Vermillion, or Geneva. That stuff is fine for later in the broadcast, but should not, IMO, be the lead stories. I want to here what is happening in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. And, as we all know here UO, there are lots of things happening.

Cleveland: Cleveland Clinic News & Info
*** relocated *** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This might be a tall order, but there are so many Cleveland Clinic threads. Is it possible to condense these down to a few (construction, economic, urban bar, whatever)? It took me much longer then I wanted to give to find a place to put this. Cleveland Clinic part of new cardiac surgery clinical trials network Saturday, August 04, 2007 Regina McEnery Plain Dealer Reporter Heart bypasses are on the decline, but the lucrative and evolving field of cardiac surgery is busier than ever, prompting the government to create an unusual clinical trials network that will look at which novel surgical techniques work best in which patients. The Cleveland Clinic is part of that $35 million network. It expects to launch its first study next year. "The moment is right," said Dr. Eugene Blackstone, a cardiothoracic surgeon from the Clinic who has developed mathematical models that measure surgical outcomes in heart patients. "Cardiac surgery is no longer dominated by a single operation. There are new techniques, new devices, hybrid devices that go way beyond the routine bypass grafting." Blackstone and Dr. A. Marc Gillinov, a Clinic surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive heart valve surgery, are part of the network. It also includes specialists from Columbia University Medical Center, Duke University Medical Center, Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Montreal Heart Institute, University of Virginia Heart Center and Montefiore-Einstein Heart Center in New York. more at: http://www.cleveland.com
