On a related note, my wife and I took a road trip via US42 a couple of weeks ago. We started at the corner of West 25th and Detroit Avenue and head south to its southern terminus in Louisville, Kentucky. Took about 11 hours (vs the 4+ hours on the way back via I71)

Cleveland: Rocket Arena (Gund Arena)
Game on! Cavs announce Quicken Loans transformation will go forward The Cleveland Cavaliers announced Wednesday that the $140 million transformation of Quicken Loans Arena will go forward. The announcement occurred a little more than a week after Cavs owner Dan Gilbert said he was withdrawing from the project. The project was revived on Aug. 31 after opponents to Cleveland providing funding for the project withdrew referendum petitions that would have required a vote on the issue. The Cavs said they would reconsider the decision to pull out of the deal to renovate Quicken Loans Arena now that referendum petitions have been withdrawn. Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish issued statements of support. Jackson said: "Throughout the process, my support for this agreement never wavered," Jackson said. My efforts have always been to create vibrant neighborhoods and a vibrant downtown. I've said it before -this deal is one of the best I've seen because it provides opportunities for all of Cleveland. Those who demonized this process were shortsighted, and I encourage them to ask themselves what they can do for the future of this city. Strong leadership requires doing the right thing, not just saying what you think people want to hear. http://www.cleveland.com/cuyahoga-county/index.ssf/2017/09/game_on_cavs_announce_quicken_loans_transformation_will_go_forward.html

They're regional and coded by the airport they serve. Randall Park will likely be coded something like CLE1. The ones in Columbus are coded CMH1 and 2. The existing Amazon Flex facility in operation on Bluestone Boulevard in Euclid is CLE1

Cedar Point's former Mean Streak coaster gets taller, wilder; new name to come By Susan Glaser Cedar Point's newest roller coaster will debut in spring 2018, a remake of the wooden giant Mean Streak, which is getting a new steel track, a higher first hill and at least three inversions. Cedar Point held a hard-hat tour of the construction site at the back of the park for members of the media Tuesday morning. Although officials released few details of the new ride - we don't yet know what it will be called - some key features were readily apparent: * The new coaster will feature a first hill considerably higher than Mean Streak's 161-foot top drop. Scott Short, with the American Coaster Enthusiasts, eyeballed the hill - still under construction - at higher than 200 feet. * The first hill looks to have a near-vertical drop, according to steel beams mounted on the coaster's wood frame. * At least three inversions are being added in the remake. Mean Streak didn't flip riders upside down at all. MORE: http://www.cleveland.com/travel/index.ssf/2017/07/cedar_points_former_mean_strea.html

Euclid Square Mall, now dead, could be demolished for massive industrial project By Michelle Jarboe Another dead Northeast Ohio mall could be bulldozed for an industrial project, under plans being floated by an Atlanta-area developer that has constructed sprawling distribution centers for Amazon.com and other retail behemoths. On Tuesday, Euclid's Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a request to rezone a 66-acre site, spanning Euclid Square Mall and a few adjacent parcels, from retail to industrial use. Documents filed with the city identify Seefried Industrial Properties, Inc., of Georgia as the potential buyer of the properties. And those documents show that Seefried wants to construct a massive building - 650,000 to 1 million square feet - where the vacant mall now stands. Oh, I wouldn't worry about that old mall very much. It has been officially condemned and has been completely vacated. All of the churches that were there are gone. All of this is about to change very soon though and it will include a complete remake of about 65 acres of the site into something pretty awesome.
