  3. Look at the very first post on this thread, second picture.
  4. No kidding. That's a major announcement.
  5. Where did you first notice each other? That is always a good place to do it... or at least have it as part of the days events. My wife and I noticed each other at the Flat Iron. but we officially met at Smart Bar where I worked. We ended up having our wedding and reception there.
  6. The egg shaped portion was originally going to be for emergency evacuation only (state fire code requirement), but I am pretty sure it is full access now Staging is stock and delivery
  7. musky replied to a post in a topic in Completed Projects

  8. Pier W, or Ponte Vecchio would make a nice backdrop to the event though. You could promise the world then (looks out window to behold the future)
  9. I also heard the entire State of Michigan's central government is moving downtown as well. :-D

  14. The contract with Nebraska books requires a full bookstore that will be open to the public. I do not have the floor plans on me right now, but I can tell you the spot for them in the student center is significant. (i will post details tomorrow.) Here are the numbers for Nebraska Books to be located in the new student center: The bookstore will be a total of14330 sq ft. This includes a 1330 sq ft staging area on the lower level. Deliveries will be made here. On the first floor there will be 4000 sq ft devoted to textbooks. this will be set up about 5 feet from the Euclid Avenue entrance to the SC./ 9000 sq ft will be devoted to sales and support including commercial retail (in direct competition wit BN). This level will be the same elevation as the Euclid entrance. there will also be an additional entrance on the southwest corner (see egg shape below). There will be a 2278 sq ft area set up as a lobby/cafe with tables that will be open to the top of the building.
  15. Good summary of what's going on. These are the things I tell people all of the time. I did a project last year the made me think of all the projects in the greater downtown area. So I made a map overlaying all of the various planning studies. I did not include the small single projects and I know I forgot a few things( like the Tow Path Trail), but it gives you an overall idea.
  16. A few more facts phase 1: 1) Barnes and Noble is leasing 10,000 sf at 2020 Euclid Ave. 2) They open 8/1/07 3) The residential component includes 44 rental units and 8 for-sale units
  17. Too bad the Turkish joint in the playhouse theater area closed down. They had some potent brew.

Did you mean to include an emoticon in your post? Or you could just buy them online. Its a lot cheaper that way. I really hope that this has a cafe in it. There is hardly anywhere to hang out on campus. Once the UC is torn down, students will need somewhere to go. If there isn't any coffee shops, etc nearby, they'll leave. Don't forget about Cafe' A'Roma, and one block away, Starbucks
  19. I agree last week i had to go to Paris. I dreaded going to Newark. The only reason i was able to tolerate the trip to newark is the international departures / arrivals are rarely delayed. In Newark, from the time we pushed back to wheels up it was approximately 45 minutes. I thought that damn IKEA sign would be burned into my retina! There were 28 planes in front of us then we somehow cut about 10 then when I looked back there must have been a line of 30-40 planes behind us. Those delays are starting to wear thin on passengers not only at continental but Jet Blue, Delta and American at JFK. Almost all my flights CLE to LGA, we have to wait after pushback due to "traffic in the New York airspace". It's annoying to sit on the ground for as long or longer than than the actual flight time (55-60 minutes) of that particular flight. :x :x Those flights are packed and uncomfortable. But on the board every flight to/from ATL, BOS, IAD, BWI, DCA, CLT, DFW & MDW as well as many Caribbean flight were delayed because of ATC. This could be avoided if Continental shifted some of those domestic flights to Cleveland and increase the CLE-EWR Flights to hourly. Continental could continue to grow internationally while CLE could funnel enough traffic for non stop flights to premier European, Canadian & S. American markets. Sounds like its time for a UO letter writing campaign to Continental.
  20. ^Unless it was 2 or 3 stories. (get it... story, as in book... get it)
  21. Nope. I actually gave him this story But I just found out more: "Now it's changing---it's not actually a Barnes and Noble store. It's just a Barnes and Noble College Booksellers store, which is already at Case, Oberlin, and other places."
  22. I am hoping to get a response to an email I sent out for more information this week. I'll pass on any new info if I can.
