Cleveland: Dike 14
Understood. But I do not think that portion of the city ever had much in the way of beaches. I'll look around at some of my old maps. Does your friend work at Biohabitats, Inc? They were the consultants that did the last planning study for the dike in 2005 along with Kerr + Boron Associates, DLZ, Consultating Engineers, Hull and Associates, and KS Associates. See below: However, Cleveland's Waterfront Plan does call for beaches near the dike. (see below) Again, that is many dollars away from being reality.

Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
I think they cleaned what appeared to be messages written in the dust or something. I saw it the other day traveling south on 9th. But I could not make out what was on the windows due to traffic on the north bound side. Still, I am sure the clean windows make a difference.

Cleveland Fire Stations
Well done. I like Stations #26 and #36. Next you should take pics of all of the former stations in their various states of disrepair and reuse, i.e., the old #20 on West 25th near the current one.

STICKY: How do I post pix?
I just read today that MySpace just bought Photobucket. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is for images that might not be your own. If you do not use photobucket, you should copy the url of the image (not the url for an actual webpage, just the image). You should be able to view this url by right clicking on the image and then clicking on view image (firefox - don't remember what it says for IE). To add that image to a thread here on UO, click on the button above that is between the Youtube button and the Globe button ([/img]) The place the url for the image in between the two sets of brackets. If you use a service like Flickr, or Picassa, they will provide a link to the image for you. Follow the same directions. Finally, you can upload a picture by clicking on the "Additional Options" link below the reply box. It is located somewhere around here: | | | \|/ v Click on browse, find the image you want to upload and follow these directions .

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Really? Interesting. Now that I am thinking about it. I vaguely recall the other house belonging to Kuri. Again, I could be totally wrong on that.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
I saw that too. I think it might be a house. I remember something vaguely in a Planning Commission meeting about a year ago regarding the construction of at least one house being built there. And I think it might be attributed to local artist Vega... I think. Don't quote me on that.

Cleveland: Cultural Gardens
There are several Cultural Garden threads here - this seemed like the best place to post this. If not feel free to move it. Or create the "Great Cleveland Cultural Gardens" thread. Anyway, this is really crappy. Metal thieves hit Slovak, Hungarian Cultural Gardens Posted by Jesse Tinsley May 06, 2007 14:39PM The Cleveland Cultural Gardens - so much a part of the city's history and a reflection of its ethnic diversity - is desperately struggling to recover cherished artifacts stolen over the weekend from the sprawling Rockefeller Park. Two bronze busts, one from the Hungarian garden and another from the Slovak garden, were reportedly stolen from the park Friday night, according to according to David Dusek, a delegate for the Cultural Gardens... more at: http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2007/05/metal_thieves_hit_slovak_hunga.html

Cleveland: Dike 14
^^^I don't think the missle silos are in the Dike 14 area. Aren't they somewhere else? ^^I study was done done. You can't "re" establish something that was not there. But there was talk some time ago about creating a new beach along the dike... $$$$ ^I was surprised about the ships too. That's crazy. It would interesting to get some ground penetrating radar to take some images of the dike.

Cleveland: Steelyard Commons
I drive it at least twice a week. I never have seen any problems. I am fairly certain I have stated a few times, the DOT handbook on roundabouts clearly states that whenever a new modern roundabout is built in a city (a city that has not had one previously - that is, modern roundabouts, not the traditional traffic circles), the accident rate actually goes up for the first year then drops off significantly.
