If we cannot talk about fencing around the Avenue District project here, where can we talk about it? If there an Urban Fence forum? Willyboy, thank you for the pics. The last I was in DC (and when I noticed the fences), it was around the US Capital Visitor Center. It was similar to your China Town fence, but without the colors. At the time, I thought it looked very respectable.- ODOT Policy Discussion
Perhaps Strickland should be the one to take the lead here and just put a blanket moratorium on new highway projects? California has gone quite far in this regard in that they have declared that they will build no new highway miles. No easy decisions here no matter what. I am hearing (directly from NOACA) that the field is narrowed to six finalist. And it is 90% sure it will be an engineer... not that there is anything wrong with that.- Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
Your in the minority. Any and all of the Lakewoodians I have ever talked with hate it. Sucks to be them. I don't think they will change the name of Detroit-Shoreway. Edgewater is already it's own neighborhood.- Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
After hearing about this fencing, I was expecting something like what D.C has whenever they have construction going on. I searched around for some photos, but could not find any. Dan, do you know what I am referring to?- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
They thought it better to make the existing structure integrate with the new one.- Cleveland: Stonebridge Phase 5

From the people I have talked with at ODOT, they are very pleased with how the roundabout at West 14th has turned out. Especially that the number of accidents is well below what was projected. I bet we will be seeing this option used more and more since it is the least expensive to build an intersection and the most safe.- Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News

Looks like they are completely building out in the parking lot - at least according to the rendering.- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News

Thanks for your patience wimwar. The semester has just started and it already feels like week 13. Anyway, the Planning Commission passed the Law Building renovation which will consist of the addition of 4 new classrooms, moving of the innerlink, adding windows to Moot court and updating the Law Clinic. The Commission had some concerns with how the landscape will fit with the rest of the campus plan, particularly for the Euclid Avenue Ribbon. Construction should start in March - no later then April. Most of the hardcore stuff being done in the summer, of course. This pass Sunday's PD had a surprisingly positive critique by Litt- Cleveland: District of Design

I drove through this morning and took many pics. I'll post them tonight.- Cleveland Monsters Discussion
Have you been talking to my wife? She said the exact same thing when I told her. I like that the name is not so Cleveland-centric. Gives the team more of a regional fan base. They did a nice job with the logo too.- Empty Big Box Reuses
^That was the first thing I thought about. Besides replacing it with another big box occupant, what kind of non-traditional functions can fit into such a building? Indoor BMX, or skateboarding? Nursery? Business incubator?- Cleveland housing tax abatement

Cleveland Colectivo Member and Friend, It is our pleasure and honor to personally invite you to "Change for Change," the Cleveland Colectivo's very first fund-raising event. The Cleveland Colectivo is a "giving circle" that was founded in 2005 and is now in its second year of funding innovative community projects. The focus of the event is an auction. Artists from around the region are creating and donating what we are calling "Social Change Banks," an idea that builds upon the simple "change bank" that many of us grew up with: saving our pennies, nickels and dimes for a year before donating them to an organization in the community. A social change bank links the act of an individual saving money to the mission of the Colectivo: Clevelanders coming together to strengthen our community through collective investments that identify and nurture innovative projects. Ultimately, each social change bank will be auctioned off and 100% of funds raised will go directly to the 2007 grantees of the Cleveland Colectivo. We feel your presence at this event is very important because of your dedication to community issues. This event will be a fantastic opportunity to both meet new people and reacquaint yourself with familiar faces who believe in Cleveland and its surrounding communities. Won't you join us? Food and beverages will be provided. In addition to the auction funds, 10% from the sales of all regular gallery items will go to the Colectivo and its 2007 grantees! The event will take place on Saturday, February 10th from 7-10 pm at the Local Girl Gallery at 16106 Detroit Ave . An invitation is attached. For complete information on the Cleveland Colectivo, visit www.clevelandcolectivo.org. Thank you for your time and we look forward to seeing you on February 10 th! Sincerely, The Cleveland Colectivo- Cleveland - Penton Media
