Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Someone here should remember this: wasn't ESPN Zone looking at various sites in cleveland some time ago but decided against it for whatever reason. I think it was right after Jacobs Field opened.

- Ohio Education / School Funding Discussion
Coalition seeks education amendment Board would get control of money Thursday, January 18, 2007 Aaron Marshall Plain Dealer Bureau Columbus - Frustrated by a state legislature they say isn't providing enough money for schools, a coalition of education and labor groups unveiled a proposed constitutional amendment that punts critical decisions about education from lawmakers to the State Board of Education. Under the proposed amendment announced at a Wednesday news conference in Columbus, the state school board would have unprecedented power to decide the components of a high-quality education and determine the cost of such an education. It would then be left to state lawmakers and the governor to decide how to pay for the level of funding determined by the 19-member state board. Uniting under the banner "Getting it Right! For Ohio's Future," education advocates touted their approach as a "purely objective format" for determining what the state's investment should be for Ohio's 1.8 million schoolchildren. The proposal also includes roughly $200 million in property tax cuts for Ohio seniors and disabled citizens, establishing education as a fundamental right and a new system that would assure that higher education and local government funds receive annual increases. Anybody else find it interesting, or bothered a little by the fact that we can ignore everyone but the moderators?- Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info

The Guitarmania 2007 site has been launched http://www.cleveland.com/guitarmania/ They have most of the proposals posted. Lots of local artist - not many, if any, big names. At least none that I recognize.- GOOGLE: All Day, All Night, All Nice
I suppose I would be upset too. One thing I noticed recently when looking at Cleveland - East 9the Street has the "Rock and Roll Boulevard" moniker labeled in the two closest zooms.- GOOGLE: All Day, All Night, All Nice
Doesn't bother me.- Post a Screenshot of Your Desktop
Your welcome. Its actually a Live Desktop (one of the few things I actually like about M$) of this web page: http://parole.aporee.org/ Plus Google desktop on the left. Check out that site, it is really a cool tool to use if you are into Planning and Urban Theory.- Shoutbox Feeback

Ok. There should be a pole to see which user is ignored the most. I can give a pretty good guess at who that would be.- Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info

Doesn't RTA do that now... or at least used to?- Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Last semester I did a project using the land formerly known as Ontario Pointe. If medical mart/convention center is a go, it could feasible for FC to purchase this land and the parcel that are adjacent to it next to Canal Road. This would be a great opportunity to bring some development up to Ontario across from Jacobs Field. There might be an issue with air rights over the RTA tracks though.- Northeast Ohio / Cleveland: General Transit Thread

From Cleveland.com:- Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I totally forgot to post this... mainly because I told my source (when he told me on December 18 at Becky's) that I would wait until after the new year before blabbing about it. So I would file this as news... as of December 18 - but you should consider it a rumor. At least until there is something more official announced. My very, very reliable source (who was a member of the Convention Facilities blah, blah, blah) told me under gin induced breath, the Medical Mart is a go. This has everything to do with the convention center and its location - Tower City. I was told the Medical Mart people loved whatever proposal was given them and are very excited about building here. Apparently there are/were some small details that needed to be worked out before any announcement is/was to be made, and it looks like those details may not have been worked out yet. So there you have it. Let the bickering begin.- Cincinnati Area Geographic Information System (CAGIS)
I had never heard of CAGIS before, and I use GIS. When I looked it up I got "Canadian Association for Girls In Science." Seriously! I would think some organization somewhere would have a layer like this. Have you tried your local planning offices? When you get to the street layer level in Google Maps, it will show you traffic circulation; that is, if you are referring to witch streets are one way and which are not. But that does not help you if you want customizable data. If you are looking for traffic count data, the county will have it - state law. I guess I'm not clear in what you are looking for.- Cleveland: Innerbelt News
I'm glad Strickland is doing this. If there is a state agency that is in dire need of an enema, it's ODOT.- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
KJP, if you wait until Friday you can make it a two-fer. ODOT is giving there Innerbelt presentation to the Planning Commision that day as well. And the CSU Law Building renovation will be presented to the public for the first time (of course, UO folk got a sneak peek by me a while back). - Ohio Education / School Funding Discussion
