  1. Wow, I saw St. Theodosius last Wednesday after the Colectivo meeting and was surprised to see it lit up. Other Tremont shots here: http://dashboardcamera.blogspot.com/2006/12/tremont-at-night-st-theodosius.html
  2. At least they painted the boards a nice color instead of keeping the rotted plywood look. That's so 90's.
  3. From the Sun News:
  4. Did anybody else catch this? Former City of Cleveland Planning Director, and current professor in the College of Urban Affairs, Norm Krumholz has been appointed as a member of the city's Planning Commission. http://clevelandplanner.blogspot.com/2006/12/krumholz-appointed-to-cleveland.html
  5. w28th: (1) The word this week on a possible location is on top of the CAMP Building. This building is on East 24th and Payne, right next to the Innerbelt. Stay tuned. w28th: (2) Because of the State's bidding process we are stuck with GS, but I do believe the president will get the best possible out of them. He does not want a building that will likely bear his name one day. And he has said on many occasion he wants no brick or concrete barriers, or something to that effect, on campus mrnyc & mgd: Not sure if you ever saw the Perkins & Wills planning study for the Student Center, but they had a rendering GS is basing there version on. Notice the huge glass wall on the Euclid/21st Street corner. This seems to be reflective of there drawing. And I do not think you can compare the BGSU setting to ours (unless I am not picturing the correct location of their student union), they are not in the same type of urban setting as ours.

LOL, how old are they? Son = 16 Daughter = 14 Magyar: Good job on the Dune books. When I read the first one as a kid (it took me a year because of the arcane language) I was forever changed.
  7. I love it when I'm wrong - it makes other people look smarter. I stand corrected and will change the title of photo set on Flickr.
  8. I looked around for a thread about the Galleria Mall but only found one on outdoor eating. If there is another, feel free to move. From Crain's: <b>Good Karma for downtown By JOHN BOOTH 2:34 pm, December 26, 2006</b> The new owner of WKNR-AM 850 and WWGK-AM 1540 will move both sports radio stations into a single downtown space in The Galleria at Erieview in late 2007. Craig Karmazin, president of Wisconsin-based Good Karma Broadcasting, said the move into a 4,000-square-foot, first-floor space at the Galleria’s east end will boost the stations’ visibility and put them closer to the professional sports teams they cover... 10. Ok, now I am only 5% sure it is the Variety. I did not take the pictures, but was given the file when I interned in the planning office. The title on the folder said Variety Theater and included the map. The last time I was actually in the theater was in the 80's to see the Dead Kennedy's play. Needless to say, everything was pretty dark in there when I last visited.

This just happen to me today. There are only four people in the office today and three of them are at lunch. ********** me: "Hello, University Architect's office." not me: "Hey, how do I get tickets to the Monster Truck Show?" me: "Probably through a ticket agent." not me: "Huh?" me: "You have the wrong number, sir." not me: "Oh. How do I get tickets to the Monster Truck Show?" me: "I imagine you could get them through a ticket agent." not me: "huh?" me: "You have the wrong number sir, this is the University Architects Office. not me: "You don't sell tickets the Monster Truck Show?" me: "No sir, we tell people what to build." not me: "What?!? Oh, um - Ok." Two Minutes Later me: "Hello, University Architect's office." not me: "Hey, I want tickets to the Monster Truck Show?" me: "Have you tried a ticket agent?" not me: "A What?" me: "You have the wrong number, Sir." not me: "grrrrr." Two Minutes Later me: "Hello, University Architect's office." not me: *background yelling with muffled female voice* "Shut up, I'll take care of it!" me: Hello? not me (female): Hello, is this the number where we can order tickets from?" me: "No Ma'am. You have the wrong number." not me (female): "grrrr!" not me (male in background): "See, I told y..." *Click*
  12. I completely agree - I got into a huge discussion with them about it. I asked them, "What's the point?" Why have something on the roof like that if only the people directly underneath it are going to benefit - and maybe some people in the tower. But our meeting was directed toward programming, not style. At least the University Architect agreed with me. I also agree, except, this building will have lots of glass (not like Urban and Business), so it will appear more inviting.
  13. The Student Center is being rebuilt at its current location College of Education is going between Fenn Tower and Mather Mansion.
  14. After thinking about this a little, I was sure I had stored some photos somewhere - and I found them. I am 95% sure these are of the Variety. Somebody will likely correct me if I am wrong. This is a map of the proposed Variety Theater District from a few years ago. It is still in the works the last I heard. Call Mike for more details. You can view the whole set here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/muscatello/sets/72157594439368601/
  15. Welcome to the board, Math. The City Planner for the Westown CDC is Michael Bosak [(216) 664-3802]. I know he has specifically worked on that theater - and the area in general. You might be able to get some information from Cudell Improvement, Inc. [(216) 228-4383], also since theyt are more likely to have information the Westown CDC does not have.
  16. The following are the latest preliminary concepts for the student center. These are not to scale and are only being used for space programing right now. Design element discussion will begin on the spring. Looking SE Looking NW Looking NE
  17. I thought I had a shot of the Miles bridge on Flickr and I found it. Sorry for the size, but I want you to see the detail. It is stamped concrete.
  18. Miles Road, near Orange - going toward Chagrin Falls. I'll hold back passing judgment on community - but the bridge is nice.
  19. Only one picture turned out (my camera is about one step above a cell phone camera)
  20. ^Good idea. How about something along the lines of what was done for the Euclid Avenue fire hydrants a couple of years ago?
  21. Very cool. Was it just me, or was everyone else expecting the dude on the right to drop his phone. I saw the lights tonight as well. I tried to get a few pictures, but then they kept changing colors. If they turn I out Ok, I will post.
  22. Firefox 2.0 - Home (Windows and Mac) Firefox 2.0 - Work (hacked... shhhh) Been a user since Phoenix 0.3 Edit******* Also, I have never had a problem with the images other forumers have had on my Mac, only on Winblows EDIT - Again******** Make that Firefox 2.0.0.1
  23. Are you saying this is going to lead to a big ass debate,or a big ass debate?
  24. ^Hmmm Well, it is going to get done. We're waiting for the outgoing or incoming gov to put their John Hancock (no pun intended) on the Capital Bill so the last piece of financing is done. And of course, the little question of site location. For now, there will only be one as this is supposed to be an experiment of sorts.
