We just had a former Pizza Hut that's been vacant for at least 5 years convert to a Chinese restaurant. I'll get a pic next time I'm out doing code enforcement

There are over 200 flavours of Kit Kat mostly from Japan Here is a good reason why from AdAge: "Nestle was struck by the discovery that the Japanese translation of Kit Kat -- Kitto Katsumeans "surely win" -- and realized it could be paired with the tradition of sending students good luck wishes before they take tough higher-education entrance exams. So it partnered with Japan's postal service to create "Kit Kat Mail," a postcard-like product sold only at the post office that could be mailed to students as an edible good-luck charm."
9. Something more substantial could work here if 1100 Lakeside (the old Ferro building) became available - but they might as well just build completely new if that were on the table

11. Euclid Brewing Co. to open soon, bringing needed local-beer option to East Side Doug Fry, the soon-to-open Euclid Brewing Co. is a giant chemistry kit. And for Fry and his wife, Kim, opening a brewery is about not having regrets. "This is one of those things that I don't want to be sitting in my senior-care room 10, 15 years from now wondering if I didn't try it," said Fry, who on March 30 left his job as a principal scientist with Ricerca, a company that focuses on small-scale synthesis and manufacturer of drugs and clinical trials. Kim Fry will maintain her job as director of communications at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights. The couple's journey to open a brewery in the city of about 50,000 is a winding one. Fry, 56, said he grew up in New Jersey and has lived in California, Wisconsin, Connecticut, South Carolina, North Carolina and Massachusetts. They have been in Northeast Ohio since 2007. Kim, 55, is from Cincinnati; they met while undergraduates at Ohio University. Permits are in place, and Fry is ready to begin brewing on the shiny new equipment any day. Hours are not set though they will be limited, at least to start. The storefront brewery, at 21950 Lakeshore Blvd., is located across Beach Club Bistro and is sandwiched between Lakeshore Coffee and Back Alley Antiques. The space has 20 or so seats at reclaimed lab tables, plus there's a small bar overlooking the kettles. http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2016/04/euclid_brewing_co_close_to_ope.html
12. Yup. P&Z approved it last month and Council gave final approval of the last week. It had to be referred to Council because it is a Use District Exemption.
13. ^I'm just reacting to the term as is described in the article by Fresh Water. Of course, a full detailed site plan might show something completely different. "Plans are now underway to build sixteen 1,200-square-foot, two-story market rate town homes on the land in a gated community."
14. Hmph... "gated community" in Downtown Cleveland... lovely
15. Surprisingly, they were never very busy in there... at least from what I saw. And I'm over there several times a week.
16. ^^It more likely has something to with Quaker Steak filing for bankruptcy last November and the Court approving the sale of their assets to Travel Centers of America last week.
17. We only use 10 out of the 11 screens. There is one theater that is not ADA compliant. We use that one for storage and as the base for volunteers.

20. As has been discussed many times.... it is now official: Dan Gilbert buys the Avenue shopping mall at Tower City in downtown Cleveland Twenty-six years after Forest City Enterprises turned a transit hub into a high-end shopping mall, the company has sold the ailing Avenue at Tower City Center to a relatively new mega-player in downtown Cleveland real estate. Companies tied to Michigan billionaire Dan Gilbert, the founder of Quicken Loans and majority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, bought the mall at Tower City and the parking underneath it Tuesday. The purchase price was not immediately disclosed. The sale could bring some clarity about the future of the 367,000-square-foot shopping center, originally lined with lofty tenants and now home to a motley mix of local shops, blank storefronts and the rare national retailer. And the transaction marks the end of a long dance between Cleveland-based Forest City, now called Forest City Realty Trust, and Gilbert's Bedrock Real Estate Services. The parties came close to concluding their deal a handful of times over the last six months but, for one reason or another, stalled out just short of the finish line. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/03/dan_gilbert_buys_the_avenue_sh.html
21. Bet that will make the national news.

On their campus. The corner of East 222 and St. Clair next to the wind turbine. You can see the turbine in the background on the rendering.
