My "conspiracy theorist friend" says this: Finals :: CLE vs GSW Which means :: LeBron vs Curry Which means :: Akron vs Akron That might be a good TV draw Personally, I feel we will get past CHI but that will be it for 2015. Just as was predicted in the beginning of the season: playoffs, but no finals

Those old pics from right after the turn of the century.... nice. ;)
  3. Nice improvement though. Glad they saved it.

Great topic! Here's a little known fun fact: Prior to Dona (Don't-call-me-Donna) Brady entered public office, she was the owner/operator of the infamous alternative music night club, Nine of Clubs, on West 9th Street (currently AdultMart)

Awesome. Thanks!!! Hope this workaround stays. And yes, you can use the other directions. Click on the "Street View Man" to rotate view 90 degrees.
  6. First impression: out of place In hindsight: almost anything can be a catalyst
  7. conjecture x2?

Yikes! Up until now, there has always been the option to switch back to the old version (see below). But that does not work anymore. This really blows. I used the 45 degree "bird's eye" view often for my work. Now I will have to go back to stupid Bing maps. Their images are old, but I guess that's the only (free) choice now.

  10. ^Wait until you see that arch at night. It's impressive (although it feels out of place in the neighborhood).
  11. Nope. Nowhere near it. It is a mess down there. But closer than before. I'll try to get some pics this weekend when I am down there.
  12. Correct, that is where the Lube Stop used to be. That was demolished and the land remidiated. The leasing office is new construction. Not a re-ues of any previously existing building.
  13. Correct. This is the leasing office (red) built in 2013/14 for the Euclid Apartments to the north (yellow).
  14. ^Only a little more than a mile off topic ;)
  15. I'll try to head around there soon to get an updated pic
  16. ^Safe to say that first photo is from Google Street View, right? I last drove by there less than a month ago and there has already been some significant exterior work done.

  19. I've been on the seasonal staff there for eight years now. I love doing it and look forward to it every year.... until the day after. Then my body realizes I have no more adrenaline left and essentially wants to shut down. I am soooooo sore right now. Only 358 days until opening night 2016!!!!

  22. Some cities have provisions in their code giving expiration dates for permits issued - typically one year. However, variance, conditional uses and what not from P&Z tend to stick with the land indefinitely. So, this should not be a problem as long as the approved use was being pursued on any upcoming project.

SI cover: 2015 MLB Preview: It's anyone's year The last time Sports Illustrated anointed the Cleveland Indians as favorites to win the World Series was 1987. With Joe Carter (who would have his own World Series moment years later) and Cory Snyder on the cover, SI declared that “Cleveland is the Best Team in the American League.” No, this is not the script of the movie Major League, as the previous five seasons before 1987, Cleveland finished 5th, 7th, 6th, 7th and 6th in the American League East. The 1987 season was no different. An Indians pitching staff that featured two aging future Hall of Famers was pummeled, allowing an absurd 957 runs with a team ERA of 5.28. Cleveland finished with baseball’s worst record at 61-101, 37 games behind division winner Detroit. The losing would continue for the next seven years before a breakout season in 1995, when the Indians went to their first World Series since 1954. (The Indians were beaten in six games by the Atlanta Braves). So what makes this year any different? Could MLB see another "Indian Uprising?" Cleveland hasn't won a World Championship since 1948 but boasts loads of talent, with leftfielder Michael Brantley, first baseman/designated hitter Brandon Moss, first baseman Carlos Santana and reigning AL Cy Young award winnerCorey Kluber, who went 18-9 with a 2.44 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 269 strikeouts last season. It could be anyone’s year in 2015, when smart free agency moves and development of young talent can be bring perennial cellar-dwellers to the pinnacle of a title. http://www.si.com/mlb/2015/03/24/mlb-preview-sports-illustrated-cover
