  1. Found this slide - but it was from a 2010 presentation. Perhaps this was removed since then.

Very good news. I often found it difficult cropping and compressing certain images when I did not want to actually host the pic on my flickr. Thankyou very much
  3. Wasn't Linda's Superette and possibly the Jamestown building next door proposed to be demolished as part of the Lakefront West plan?
  4. Cool. Two helipads, huh? And I noticed significant interior demo work has already begun on CPI
  5. I heard on good authority JRoc has read the boards opinions and is taking the project in a new direction. Here is a model of the new proposal:
  6. 7. It's official: Public Square renovation to launch Monday, March 9 It's happening. Contractors will begin work Monday, March 9, on a sweeping, $32 million renovation of Public Square, the historic and symbolic heart of the city. The city and the nonprofit Downtown Cleveland Alliance issued a brief announcement Monday morning that construction fences would go up around the square in one week. The announcement stated that during the renovation of Public Square, "Ontario Street and Superior Avenue within the square will be closed to all traffic. The surrounding Public Square roadways and Rockwell Avenue will offer access to bus traffic and local vehicular traffic only." The announcement also stated that during construction - which is scheduled from completion in time for the Republican National Convention in 2016 -- the following changes remain in effect: *Only RTA and necessary property access around Public Square (including valet, garage access, etc.). *Bus stops, shelters and bus layover areas have been reorganized to accommodate full Public Square closure. *All bus routes and transfers will remain within one block of Public Square. *The HealthLine stop across from Tower City will remain open. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/03/its_official_public_square_ren.html#incart_river
  8. It is a virtual copy of another building already built and fully utilized. Not defending it in any way... just saying.
  9. That was a very cool use of my break time.... THANKS!

  11. ^^10 PM? For real?
  12. I call it Hingetown -- except here on UrbanOhio where we don't have a thread by that name. The reason why is because it would take a lot of time to pull out from this 112-page thread all of the posts/projects within the Hingetown area (whatever its boundaries are). Ahem.... and here we are :D
  13. This makes me laugh every time I see Wayne's reaction. She really had no idea. About anything. Ever. And yet our top 20 television market outlet hired her as an anchor. That split second when he looks at the camera, and his expression just says "Oh, she's definitely fired." How soon we forget, Wayne. KgfeVHM5u_g

I haven't read the proposal yet in order to give an accurate answer. As soon as I see it I will share.

They are reposting something from last year. Cross post of my comment: "As stated by a previous commenter, the mall is not dead. There are no less than 20 "storefront" churches that operate in the mall. As well as a barber, an online radio/tv broadcaster, daycare and one food provider. Yes, the outlet store closed, but the mall owners are receiving enough rent to keep up on the property. Now the out parcels on the other hand... yeah, those are mostly dead."

We were so unimpressed with last night calls I tried the old turn the TV sound down and turn on the radio trick. Didn't work - the delay was to aggravating
  20. This part confuses me, to be honest. Is there really enough room for seating on the Euclid sidewalk? The rendering and floor plan do a neat trick vaporizing the street trees, street lights, and planters, but can that really be part of the proposal? Assuming those things stick around, the site condition photos in the link show how much room there is to work with. There are other sidewalk seating/dining areas on that side of Euclid, although farther west. The sidewalk width is the same. That being said, sometimes the numbers of pedestrians have to squeeze past those existing al fresco settings. Correct - the patio area around Noodle Cat is one such place. Things can get quite bottlenecked there.
  21. Very nice. Love how he is incorporating Siegel and Shuster as well as Joanne Carter, the model for Lois Lane, into the sculpture. I can imagine some pretty cool pics with the CLE skyline in the background. Like the article says, it will look like he is actually flying around.

  24. Public Square renovation to cause significant changes to traffic and transit routes By JAY MILLER Get ready to rethink your travel plans through the heart of downtown Cleveland. It’s all because of the rebuilding of Public Square. The plan will go into effect when construction on the square begins — possibly as soon as Feb. 23. On Tuesday morning, Feb. 3, the Group Plan Commission presented to the board of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority a construction traffic plan that will keep as much auto traffic as possible away from the construction zone, reroute buses and move bus stops. The plan was created by Group Plan traffic consultants and RTA planners. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20150203/FREE/150209961/public-square-renovation-to-cause-significant-changes-to-traffic-and
