Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
Fate of Opportunity Corridor rapid transit stops in limbo Bus and train stops on the $331 million Opportunity Corridor will be the links to existing neighborhoods, a way to make sure the roadway does more than whisk commuters from Interstate 77 to University Circle. But are some of those links in jeopardy? The director of project development for the 3.2-mile boulevard, Marie Kittredge, said a top priority in her new job is buttressing the case for hanging onto three threatened rapid stations along the route. The East 34th Street and East 79th Street stations are being studied by an RTA consultant, with a report on them expected in the fall. But already, the transit agency, and Kittredge, know they are among the least-used rail stations in RTA's system. Keeping them open despite current low ridership, or mothballing them so they can revived if business development and housing springs up along Opportunity Corridor, is crucial to getting maximum benefit from the boulevard for east side neighborhoods, Kittredge said. The former executive director of Slavic Village Development said the rail stations are at the top of her agenda as the corridor's project director, a $100,000-a-year position she began Monday. "It's the low-hanging fruit," she said. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/06/fate_of_two_opportunity_corrid.html#incart_river_default

I was pleasantly surprised to find an AM station broadcasting the game (1540). I'm glad we pulled it off. Even if we don't get much further in regards to team points, the payback is sweet.

What makes you think it might be the end of the parking lot? It could potentially be bought by one of the parking lot companies which tend to be flush with cash, and the demand for parking in that area is stronger than ever. I wonder of Marous still owns it (or did they ever own it...maybe they just had an option to buy when they were planning District Park). The one thing that would do wonders for pedestrians and non-pedestrians alike would be a road resurfacing for that street that lasts longer than a few years. What ever happened to the brick crosswalks that were in place the last time the street had a major repaving anyway?

When I was young, 216-WE1-1212 was the number for weather, and 216-GR1-1212 was the number for time. I was told GR stood for Greenwich. For a time in the 1990's, I seem to also remember 216-881-0880 was a time/weather number. Not that I am suggesting all of Urban Ohio start crank calling anyone, buuuuuuttttt... if you re bored... or drunk later on tonight, I dare you to call (216) GR1-1212. If for anything, just to listen to the voicemail message. I wonder how many people call this guy.- Cleveland: North Collinwood / Waterloo Arts District: Development and News

On Android I use the Google drop down feature which, when configured, will update you on the scores of whatever game you wish to know about. With the Tribe, for example, I will get the update score and if I wish to see live play-by-play, I can hit that link and it will show four different options to get the "live" updates. I am cheap and choose not to pay for an app if I can help it.- Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
Opportunity Corridor gets federal signoff, clearing way for 3.5-mile boulevard The Federal Highway Administration has given final environmental approval to the Opportunity Corridor, clearing the way for the Ohio Department of Transportation to move forward with the 3.5-mile, $331 million boulevard linking Interstate 490 and University Circle. A 94-page environmental impact statement and "record of decision" on the roadway issued earlier this month authorizes ODOT to proceed with detailed design, land acquisition and construction. The 35-mph, four- to five-lane urban boulevard will stretch from I-490 and East 55th Street east to Chester Avenue and East 105th Streets. After it reaches I-490, people can drive to Interstates 77 and 90 and connect to western and southern suburbs or the airport. The other end is a gateway to University Circle and the eastern suburbs. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/05/opportunity_corridor_gets_fede.html - any ohio time and temp lines
