Apparently nobody cares. Yes - all of the building immediately east of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are now a giant rubble of nothingness.

And I made an error. The cost is $300,000, not $30,000. My bad.

Dear Musky Please join us for light beverages and appetizers on November 19th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the CSU Recreation Center for our "Rasing the Roof" event. This event is to raise funds and awareness for the student driven Roof Top Garden Project on top of the Recreation Center. Members and Non-Members are welcome and all who donate towards the project will be eligible to win a Free One Year Membership to the Recreation Center. Attendees can view renderings of the finished product, listen to presentations on the benefits of a "Green Roof", and see sample plots of the vegetation. The LEED-certified Recreation Center was built with the intention of having a 7,000 square foot Green Roof, and the efforts of a few dedicated students are making it happen. You can learn more about the project at http://www.csuohio.edu/sciences/news_rooftop.html. Thank you for your support. Greg Ross Director

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
I just received a phone call from a sales person at the PD asking me to expand my service from Sunday to 7 days. Something about a great special they have going on. I don't know. I wouldn't let him finish. I started giving the poor guy the business about how I woulod be glad to but the paper if they would stop shoving the one-sided negative crap down our throats. After another minute or so, he finally said, "Ok." And that was that.

Kucinich's house hit with paint balls Posted by Mark Puente/Plain Dealer Reporter November 11, 2008 11:37AM CLEVELAND -- Rep. Dennis Kucinich's house got a new coat of paint, but it wasn't done with brushes or rollers. Two unknown vandals, believed to be teenagers, shot Kucinich's house last week with paint balls. The congressman's wife, Elizabeth, told police she heard banging noises on the side of their Milan Avenue home about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. When the sun rose, she noticed the paint balls. Later that night, the vandals returned and lobbed more orange paint balls on the front and side of the house. Elizabeth Kucinich watched the teens sprint away and jump fences through the neighborhood. She then washed the paint away with a hose, a police report said. Police have no suspects.

GOOGLE: All Day, All Night, All Nice
This is very good news. Understandable why it was not front page given the date of the vote. **************************************************************** FCC Approves Google-Backed Plan to Free TV Airwaves (Update2) By Molly Peterson Nov. 4 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. regulators agreed to free up unused television airwaves for wireless Internet access, handing a victory to Google Inc. and rejecting claims by broadcasters that the plan would disrupt TV signals. The proposal, approved 5-0 today by the Federal Communications Commission, would let unlicensed devices use the vacant channels, known as white spaces, if they come equipped with anti-interference technology. Mobile-phone makers such as Motorola Inc. would have to obtain FCC certification for each white-space product before putting it on the market... I take that as a NO! Ok, how about this one. I only saw it out of the corner of my eye, but it appears the Army Corps of Engineers building and/or the Coast Guard facilities are no longer there. (MayDay, you could probably see them from your floor). Is it true, or did I have a flashback?

As it says on the flier. Its on the rec center (see graphic) and everything else is student driven. You should go to the event in order to find out more information. If you do, please pass it on to us. (That goes for anyone who might be going.) When the Rec Center was being built, the green roof was abandoned due to Value Engineering. It needed, at the time, an additional $30,000 to make it happen. The University need to make cuts in its capital budget and that was one of many things taken out. They figured someone eventually would pony up the relatively small amount to have their name placed on said roof.

Former Indians broadcaster Herb Score dies at age 75 by The Plain Dealer Tuesday November 11, 2008, 10:04 AM Former Cleveland Indians pitcher and broadcaster Herb Score's died this morning at age 75 in his room at home in Rocky River, the Indians confirmed today. He was a brilliant Indians pitcher whose baseball career was virtually ended at age 23 when he was hit in the right eye by a line drive off the bat of Gil McDougald of the New York Yankees on May 7, 1957. Then he became a Cleveland sportscasting institution, calling Indians games on radio and television for 34 years, longer than anybody else in the city's baseball history. He gained a loyal following, although he did not have the greatest voice or elocution. He was like a favorite uncle who talked baseball. "For me, broadcasting the game is like sitting in the stands talking to the fellow sitting next to me," he said.
