  1. That’s what I’m thinking as well. Downtown would definitely need a grocery store for it to happen.
  2. This is fantastic. 40,000 downtown residents by 2040 is a super ambitious goal. Fingers crossed City Council is supportive…
  3. This area has potential to develop like the Rainey district in Austin, probably on a much smaller scale here though. Both have a narrow strip on land in between a highway and a river. I guess we’ll see how much land is left after 70 is expanded.
  4. From a Columbus Underground article today. It’s always about parking…. “The plan to add recreation facilities to the stadium site ran into problems from the very beginning, the most significant one being that the entity that owns the land – the state of Ohio – never supported it. The leaders of both the Ohio Expositions Commission and the State Fair expressed concerns about losing parking, and an agreement was never worked out.” https://columbusunderground.com/city-dropping-plan-for-sports-complex-at-historic-crew-stadium-bw1/
  5. Not my best pic, but here’s an update for the IBEW site
  6. https://columbusunderground.com/whittier-development-moving-forward-despite-metro-parks-concerns-bw1/ It looks like this Columbus Underground article has different renderings than the Columbus Dispatch article posted above. They've removed a lot of the angles and replaced it with a more boxy design. Hopefully they use quality materials at least.
  7. Does anyone know if the crown will have some sort of lighting? I drove by and it’s nearly invisible in the nighttime skyline.
  8. The sprawl resulting from this development will be insane.
  9. At Arlington Gateway. I snapped this a few minutes ago.
  10. I'm glad they pushed back on the elevator shaft, otherwise it's always great to add more housing to the area.
  11. Does anyone know if this building is finally open on the corner of Main and Front?
  12. Wow this is terrible. Why do they need a drive through right on high street? Do people drive into the Short North to pickup their prescriptions? This news coupled with the scaled down proposal on Hubbard seem to point to a regressive future for the Short North. What a shame.
  13. I think this looks great, it adds a lot of density, which means the commission will absolutely hate it.
  14. Greenhouse Short North has gone vertical.
  15. This is so frustrating. Short north is exactly the place to build a 12 story building. It seems these commissioners never want Columbus to urbanize. Urbanohio members need to take over commissions 😂
  16. Yikes. I bet the developer has determined there’s enough demand to support a project here. A commissioner has no business making an unsupported claim like the one above.
  17. I was looking at the street views around the proposed development above and was shocked by how much has changed. The first screenshot is from 2011 and the second is from 2020.
  18. Snapped this from outside north market,
  19. Wow….this is so frustrating. Columbus needs to revamp its zoning laws asap
  20. Does anyone know why they put white tarps all over the building? Are they spraying some type of fireproof material on the steel?
  21. Update on the Greenhouse project: part of the old IBEW building has been torn down.
  22. Snapped this tonight.
  23. Lots of activity on Kaufman’s Greenhouse/IBEW site. The parking lot and grass area have been torn up.
