Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
Me gusta mucho, @marty15! And I like that it would be close-ish to the Science Center and Rock Hall.

Whatcha Reading?
@mrnycI know that Robbe-Grillet lifted much of the plot from Morel. I was just saying that I think the ending and explanation aren't a one for one match with Morel.

@Pugu Its a fake account.

Whatcha Reading?
Last Year at Marienbad is one of my favorite movies of all time, full stop. Caught it at the Cinematheque, then immediately bought the Criterion edition. It's a straight up masterpiece, and absolutely a visual feast. Delphine Seyrig is stunning in those Chanel dresses. Still haven't seen Jeanne Dielman, but with three year old twins its hard to find three and a half hours lol. And I'm not so sure that Morel "solves" it as much as it offers another explanation. But is great to come across someone else who loves the film!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
How many of the Ohio City NIMBYs would say word one if the developer wanted to put this apartment up at 28th and Division?

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
What aspects of the architecture of the busted out windows and weed riddled parking lot that currently occupy the site are the residents of Ohio City so fond of? Something something cutting off your nose to spite your face...

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
He was a forumer that had some... out there opinions. One of them was that this should not be built because we need the green space, and that they should put a park in this location instead.

Hopefully they throw in a nice memorial placard or statue.

Whatcha Reading?
Definitely want to read Ham on Rye. I'll add Post Office to the list. I just finished The Invention of Morel and Last Exit to Brooklyn. Both great, but damn is Last Exit ROUGH.

That signage is... less than world class.

Cleveland: Downtown Parks & Public Spaces - Development/Construction
We need to turn all the major arteries into boulevards with lush shrubbery and trees. A road diet that also increases tree canopy downtown. Win win.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
I've been listening to a lot of LCD Soundsystem lately (All My Friends is a total jam), and went down a rabbit hole of stuff he sampled. That's how I came across Jamaica Running. It slaps, but def not for everyone.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
I see what you did there.

Cleveland: Downtown Parks & Public Spaces - Development/Construction
@KJPmentioned some rumors of a substantial development that involved those lots and maybe the area around the Wolstein Center in one of his seeds and sprouts, IIRC.

This guy ameliorates.

I said before that the Weston Superblock plans would be perfect. This definitely blows the BOK complex out of the water:

Favorite Music At The Moment?
Tim is great, too (Left of the Dial, Little Mascara, and Here Comes a Regular are the best of the bunch). Def should've mentioned it. My favorite anecdote about the Replacements is that they wanted to name the record after Let it Be Let it Bleed. The stones on Westerburg, et al.!
-
Favorite Music At The Moment?
That slaps. I like the Replacements version better perhaps. Let it Be and Pleased to Meet Me are masterpieces.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
This is probably my favorite 80s British export
-
Favorite Music At The Moment?
MBV is good and gets namechecked a lot, but they are overrated in my opinion.
-
Favorite Music At The Moment?
That definitely sounds like a British song from the 90s. Its good, but not my tempo.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
How can you talk shogaze/navelgaze/whatever you wanna call it and not include Grey Cell Green?

Cleveland: Random Development and News
It’s pretty much Iheart and CBS radio, ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX, right? And they don’t have to be exactly on 12th, just closer to that area. I’m super happy they are moving downtown, and with them on the first floor that part of Euclid with be very active.
