  1. They previous tried this type of retail on Shake Square and it failed. I guess it didn't cater to enough of the residents to the west. Plus, remember it is owned by the Coral Company. Their biggest leasing accomplishment in the past year has been to land the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center in one of the prominent empty spaces. This is wrong on so many levels.
  2. Yup, like they said. Just saw also this morning.
  3. VAD scheduled openings: - Restore - 4/5 - Michael’s Genuine - 4/8 - Brassica - 4/12 - District Art Gallery - 6/1 - Nature’s Oasis - 6/1 - Shinola + Sawyers Restaurant ‘ALIVE’ are opening this summer. Official announcements will be made soon.
  4. It was gone from the website when I checked over a month ago. So now apparently Shinola is reversing course and indicating they are opening at Van Aken again! (the Shinola website should again indicate Shaker Heights) Posting additional VAD opening info in that thread.
  5. It is apparently up in the air as Shinola had taken it off of their website (and indicated by Shinola to at least a few) that it isn't happening while a few are still saying, "late spring". We shall see.
  6. Perhaps one is J Crew, which I haven't heard announced yet. I'm wondering what became of Shinola at Van Aken though. It had been announced and was on their website, but now it is not on their website. There was even an ad for a manager a while back, but either it was filled or removed. Van Aken has been quite about most things.
  7. What's painful about seeing that list is it shows "Cover My Meds" with over 1000 new hires in Franklin County. This company of course started out in Cuyahoga County. Ouch.
  8. There are several of these buildings between 90th and 93rd just north of Chester. Only a few years ago they had people living in them, but the past couple years they have all had their windows removed so that exposure to the elements will make them a hazard and need to be torn down. They are merely taking their cue from the Clinics example of buying, and neglecting until its a hazard and demolition is approved. Shame.
