  1. "The status of the Lorain Avenue project was less clear Friday. The goal of the project is to create sidewalk-level bike lanes separated from traffic for two miles on Lorain Avenue from West 20th to West 65th Street. The city approved a design for the project in 2015, although bike advocates and planners grew concerned last year that the Jackson administration was watering down the design. Tom McNair, executive director of nonprofit Ohio City Inc., the neighborhood’s community development corporation, said he’s hopeful that the Bibb administration will follow through on the original aspirations. The NOACA grant announced Friday adds $3.2 million to the $7.6 million the agency has already allocated to the project. The full cost, according to NOACA, is $22.8 million. It was unclear Friday how additional money has been appropriated to the project by the city and other sources. McNair said he believes total funding for the project has reached $15 million so far. “It’s time to figure out where to get the rest of the money,’’ he said. “NOACA has clearly played their part.”" https://www.cleveland.com/news/2022/01/noaca-announces-448m-in-grants-including-a-big-boost-for-clevelands-midway-and-lorain-avenue-cycle-track.html More money is good news. At ~15 million of the ~23 million needed.
  2. Bowen is out and Kuri is in as chair with co-chair being Fluker. Meeting was impressively on track compared to past ones. That being said, a lot of what was presented was consensus good work/exciting stuff. I hope to see a continued objective state of discussion moving forward with the leadership of Kuri/Fluker.
  3. I think it makes sense! This area has a lot of cool things happening related to media/art. https://www.ingenuitycleveland.org/hamilton-collaborative/
  4. I agree with this for the most part but reality is I've been downtown and now on the west side bordering Detroit Shoreway and Ohio City for the last 7 years and this is the first year I saw guns get pulled during altercations (twice) in the Flats and downtown. It's not normal and is happening more often. We should speak up on the fact that certain places which used to feel safe(r), don't. I know people who are afraid to go out to Gordon Square at night now with all the recent carjackings. You can blame the media but the people to truly blame are the ones doing it. It is only a matter of time before an innocent person in a crowded bar gets clipped.
  5. East and West Bank have been HOT for the last 8 months. There's affiliated people in some of apartments on both the east/west side of the Flats. Also, AirBnB's are a real issue. Maybe these apartments/companies need to start checking sources of income/payments a bit better... I know with 100% certainty LaFlexico gang has a spot in Stonebridge. Str8Drop got out of jail a few months back and he's already back in– he's affiliated with LaFlexico.
  6. Bowen being replaced is a win. Having Fluker serve as vice is also a win. Them being 1/2 is good to see!
  7. Good for them but I will never pay 8 dollars for a bowl of cereal.

  11. Love seeing the development/rehabbing extend south of Lorain in this area.
  12. Always thought this would be a great location for retail/residential. Love it.

  15. Shot down again by planning commission. Up to the courts now... who knows how long this lot will continue to sit vacant.
  16. 4705 Bridge Ave project is back on Planning Commission's agenda tomorrow in the form an appeal. Since I live a few houses down, I would love to voice my support for this lot being developed as townhomes. I hate walking past the empty lot. https://planning.clevelandohio.gov/designreview/drcagenda/2021/PDF/CPC-Agenda-WebEx-meeting-110521.pdf

An end of a long era, a great day, no matter how you voted. May Cleveland’s motto ring true again– to progress and prosperity.

  19. Interesting! It seems the LLC owns that entire corner. That is unfortunate if that's still their view.
