  1. Bought a home on W 48th and will be moving in soon, count me in.
  2. Great use and proprietor. I'm sure this will be an awesome space. Just down the street, Hotel Indigo (651 Huron Road) and "Headliner" space are well under way. To me, it seems like it's nearing completion. Website states: "The Hotel Indigo Cleveland Downtown is now accepting reservations for arrivals on or after January 15, 2021."
  3. This about sums it up! Cleveland.com article has some pics. https://www.cleveland.com/news/2020/10/welcome-back-heinens-downtown-cleveland-grocery-store-reopens-after-riot-damage.html
  4. None of the entrances were open when I walked by a few moments ago– maybe later today!
  5. Favorite residential street in Cleveland. Lovely in a winter storm and even prettier when the trees on the streets flowers bloom and are white. Very envious of those that live and will be living in the Lumen but happy to have them. Looking forward to the day PHS is finally open again.
  6. Any opening is good news... but I only end up there in an inebriated state.
  7. My guess would be Wings Over.
  8. https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2020/08/man-riding-bird-scooter-shot-in-downtown-cleveland-police-say.html This is the reason West 3rd was blocked off last night for some time– police presence Downtown is abysmal.
  9. My significant other and I use this space often. From breaks during biking/running, to meeting with other people coming downtown from the west side or taking our dog to the grassy area. Huron Rd E/Prospect Ave E is within a half mile and that street houses over 1 person(s). Beyond beautifying an entrance to the city, it's great to have well maintained, functional areas to break/relax in.
  10. Has anyone heard anything from Heinen's? I have heard some bad things from people who work there and others within the neighborhood. I'm not sure if I've missed something but inside hasn't been touched from what I can tell and they were reportedly supposed to be open by now.
  11. Another angle of the work being done down Euclid.
  12. This is very exciting! I walk through that campus almost everyday and I see SO much potential. If Euclid Ave in this stretch gets some attention, I will be thrilled.
  13. Looks like it'll be authorized reseller. https://www.att.com/stores/ohio/cleveland/194654

  15. If you live downtown, you'd know a majority of these broken windows come at the hands of the homeless population. There a few homeless people I could point out throughout any given week that I've seen break car mirrors, throw things in the street, break bottles on the sidewalk, rip plants out of planters, break branches off of trees, etc. Usually the destruction comes from people with no intent to rob, rather people who have nothing better to do/aren't thinking straight. Yesterday, some poor homeless "kid" (twenties) tried to start something with me at 10am while I was on a walk. I did nothing to trigger it, he was just clearly mentally ill. If we want to stop the broken windows/destruction, it starts with figuring out solutions for the homeless community, especially the mentally ill ones.
  16. I've seen work going on inside as recently as last weekend so it seems that it is moving forward. Roman Cafe (new pizza place) is also actively being worked on on East Fourth.
  17. New restaurant going into 850 Euclid Ave. Not sure what it's called but it seems that it will be a jerk chicken place. Used to be the location of Cleveland Pickle sandwich shop and most recently Hatfield's Good Grub Express. https://m.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2020/05/12/ujerk-caribbean-eatery-to-bring-island-cuisine-to-the-heart-of-downtown
  18. I think we can find common ground with this statement: if those retailers want to be here, they will be here. Adding another mall that brings them here surely will only hurt filling in the retail stores Downtown that they are now not going to fill. That's my issue with this approach. We have empty storefronts, empty malls, empty buildings downtown that can house/fit just about any retailer you could think of. Why are we building something new to attract suburbanites who all have their own versions of these closer? Why would we build something that is meant to mimic downtown/neighborhood shopping feels when we have a downtown that can fill that need? It makes no sense.
  19. Living downtown for 5+ years, walking past empty storefront after empty storefront, it's easy to understand why this project isn't being received well. Downtown and it's residents aren't looking for outlet malls and fake neighborhoods like the suburbs are. City officials need to find a way to get the national retailers in the empty storefronts instead of building something that could very well die out just as quickly as it gets built.
  20. An awesome replacement! Excited for Bocuzzi to finally be on East 4th street.
  21. Agreed! Erie Island has their shop on the corner of East 18th and Euclid so it still exists and provides campus another option for coffee that isn't Starbucks or Joe Max.
  22. https://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2020/02/05/owner-of-citizen-pie-to-open-roman-cafe-in-home-of-erie-island-coffee-on-e-fourth-st Pizza place coming to East Fourth Street. Should be a nice, quick option addition to that street. I wonder what's going with that corner unit that's still for lease after Bruell & co. left it.
  23. I love this city but a used "luxury" car dealership does not belong in this space.
  24. I think that space, especially the patio, can and should be utilized way better than it was by Hodges. My experiences there were pleasant but the menu was stale, at best. Looking forward to all of these spaces hopefully getting filled in.
  25. Over the last few months, I've heard and seen some things on Prospect outside of the restaurant that I never saw in the past three years: Fights Nothing out of the ordinary for a place that has a drunk crowd. The bad part is these fights usually spill onto the street and it looks like a scene from a Saturday night on West 6th except there are no police or law enforcement to be found. I wish they'd keep it on the sidewalk or elsewhere and quit forcing people driving down the road to reroute their drive and residents on the street to lose sleep. Street racing This is the most aggravating one. Cars and motorcycles speeding from East 14th and Prospect down to East 9th and Prospect. I did some "research" out of my window which has a view of the entire street and patrons from the restaurant after close were involved in every aspect of the race (driving, filming, cheering, etc.). Next morning you'll walk down to broken bottles of wine or liquor on the sidewalks where the same people were seen cheering, screaming, filming, etc. All of this happens after close (2am/3am). I know a place can't be responsible for their patrons after they leave their establishment. Overall, it's a bad look for the city. Prospect is starting to come back to life with places like Chicago's home, Domino's, a yoga place, a dispensary, businesses, condo/apartments, etc. but the only time I see law enforcement or the city caring about the street is when there's a parking ban. These street races/street brawls and broken bottles littering the sidewalk should be of the cities concern.
