Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
A major problem NE Ohio has, especially in Cleveland/Cuyahoga County, is all the infighting going on. I've lived here for 30 years and I've always been amazed at all the grudges and infighting between leaders here. Case in point, the drama over the Browns stadium. While much time and energy is spent on bickering, opportunities continue to slip away. It seems like a cultural thing among the leadership here.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Yes, and I don't know why there's not more information. Last major news, I saw, about the master plan is that it was sent to the FAA for approval. This was about 2-3 years ago. Other than the Sheraton getting demolished and the 5900 Cargo Rd. conversion for the expansion project offices, I've heard very little. I wish the Powers That Be (Bibb, Francis) would provide regular updates on the Terminal expansion plan. A good place for posting updates, IMHO, would be here: https://clevelandairportmasterplan.com/ These updates should be quarterly or at least twice a year.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Maybe I'm wrong, but I wish the City of Cleveland put as much effort in improving/upgrading Hopkins as it does, ostensibly, keeping the Browns in the city. To me, investing in our airport is more beneficial to our region's economic health than a football team. CLE aviation (airline service and facilities) needs to be competitive with the likes of Columbus, Indy and Pittsburgh.

Don't look now... NWS is calling for a snow/rain mix with possible accumulations... Snip...An active forecast period is in store, particularly from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday when the potential exists for impactful winds and wet snow accumulations. Confidence in the placement and magnitude of those impacts remains low given inconsistent details among models, but we`ll dive into the details and what could lead to a more or less impactful system...Snip NWS Cleveland Area Forecast Discussion

Ohio: General Business & Economic News
We've been there before. Beautiful area! That said, we really do love the NEOH area and much prefer to stay. It's the rest of Ohio we're concerned about, especially after reading the post made by taestell several hours ago. I wonder how will all this affect NEOH's economy?

I know this won't happen, but NEOH needs to become its own state (Western Reserve?) Otherwise, my other half & I are considering a move to Northern Vermont, with Montreal being a relatively close large city.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
There are a lot of Sunbelt cities that will gladly provide funding at the expense of public services. I used to live in the South, so I know how it goes down there.

Or a surface parking lot...

This project should just start over with a better design. It's getting just all too weird.

Does anyone know about when this pic was taken?

Cedar Point
A good chunk of it is because Hopkins is not the greatest of airports. It needs more direct flights and up to date facilities.

I don't think the passengers disembark from the diverted plane. I've seen several YouTube videos (NickFlies) of planes arriving/departing CLE and when a diverted flight arrives, it sits somewhere on the tarmac until it is ready to leave. To me, the word "infighting" seems to be the Cleveland area's middle name. As you said, there are so many entities haggling about the smallest details, it seems to takes forever to get anything accomplished. Is it just in our culture that a "Can Do" attitude seems to overlooked by our leaders? Is there any sign of improvement? There are so many things to tackle! Here's a link to a similar article. It was written awhile back, but still applies in many ways. https://www.smartcitiesdive.com/ex/sustainablecitiescollective/cleveland-whats-wrong/9024/

Fixed it for ya! ...Is it just me or do property owners/developers seem to rush to the surface parking lot "solution"? I guess surface parking is fast and easy money...☹️

I just hope if there is a merger, Cleveland would be the location of the new HQ. My concern is the HQ location would be in a "neutral" city such as Chicago.

So does anyone know what might be built in the GE plant's place? Hopefully not more parking lots.
