Norwalk / Huron County: Development and News
Courthouse project to cost $1.5 million By MATT HUTTON - Reflector Staff Writer | Thursday March 08 2007, 1:34pm The Huron County Courthouse is slated for some internal surgery this summer a $1.5 million project to make the courthouse and county office buildings more energy efficient. The commissioners accepted bids this week from Industrial Power Systems, of Toledo, for about $1.2 million for the mechanical work and Atlas Electrical Construction, of Elyria, for about $220,000 for the electrical work. The total also includes about 10 percent for "contingency" or emergency costs. The project includes new boilers for the courthouse, the treasurer's building and the recorder's building, all located on Main Street. The courthouse also will get new air conditioning and more energy efficient lighting. The commissioners originally had estimated the project would cost $965,000. But initial bids received came back in the $2 million range. The scope of the project has been pared down and contractors will do work during normal business hours, rather than in the evening. The bulk of the work will take place between June 15 and Aug. 15 and the court will likely seek an alternate location to operate in during that time. More at http://www.norwalkreflector.com/articles/2007/03/08/front/iq_319893.txt ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good news here, with all the talk of courthouse demolitions (i.e. Seneca County and Marion County)

High School & College Fight Songs & Alma Maters
It's nearly midnight; I didn't get a chance to go out tonight.........so I thought to myself..........I'll start an almost useless thread on UO  Show your school spirit (or lack thereof :-D) and post your high school and/or college fight songs and/or alma maters! High School: Norwalk St. Paul HS FIGHT SONG (using Ohio State's "Across the Field") Fight the team across the field and show 'em the Flyers are here, Send the earth reverberating with a mighty cheer. Rah! Rah! Rah! Hit them hard and see how they fall, Never let that team get the ball. Hail! Hail! The gang's all here, and we're out for a victory! ALMA MATER (using Ohio State's "Carmen, Ohio") Oh come and sing of high school days, and St. Paul High School we will praise. Though the years have quickly passed, our memories will always last. Raise your voices, raise them high, Our aspirations reach the sky. And our love will never die. For we'll be true to St. Paul High. -- ------------------------------------------------- College: Northern Illinois University FIGHT SONG ( http://www3.niu.edu/band/sound/fightsong.mp3 ) Huskies, come on you Huskies And make a score or two Huskies, you're Northern Huskies The team to pull us through Foward, together foward There's victory in view Come on you Huskies, Fight on you Huskies And win for N.I.U. ALMA MATER ( http://www3.niu.edu/band/sound/almamater.wav ) Hail to thee our Alma Mater Ever shall we praise your name Here, we proudly lift our voices Thousands strong we sing your fame Free, steadfast, devoted, true We will always stand by you Let our cheers resound for Northern Hail, N.I.U.

Miami of OH has some very nice old Greek homes! There is nothing like that here at Northern Illi University. Our Greek Row is on Hillcrest Drive and Blackhawk Boulevard..........with street names like those, you don't even need pics to realize that the Greek homes are suburban developments (actually, cruddy apartment-esque structures from the 70's and 80's)! :(
