This seen in the 'Nati
You know, I have never had it before! I am a big chili fan (and the thought of mixing it with spaghetti and shredded cheese is making my mouth water :)) I looked on the Skyline Chili website for locations; so it looks like this summer I'm going to have to make a special trip to Mansfield!

What Cleveland suburbs have the best downtowns?
Well since you have Ashtabula on there (and someone else mentioned Vermilion and Oberlin)--and those aren't exactly suburbs of Cleveland, I might as well throw my hometown and it's neighboring city onto the list as well (after all, we're only an hour away from downtown Cleveland :-D). That being Norwalk (where downtown is referred to as uptown, since Main Street parallels a ridge/hillside) and Milan (where downtown is referred to as the square and EVERY storefront is occupied by a business). www.uptownnorwalk.com www.norwalkareachamber.com www.norwalkoh.com www.milanohio.com www.milanarea.com

Does any city in Ohio have a hospital Downtown?
By no means are these major hospitals or in high-population areas, but I know of 2 hospitals that are in the heart of the downtown of their respective cities. Mercy Hospital of Willard (in Willard) Lodi Community Hospital (in Lodi) .............where are these towns, you might ask? :-D They are along Route 224 in northern Ohio. Farm country! Speaking of which, I think the Lodi hospital is the only one in the state of Ohio to have horse stables (for their Amish patrons).

Your Favorite current O-H-I-O musicians
Aren't the All-American Rejects from Toledo (or am I on something)? If they are, that'd be awesome, as they are extremely good!

Super Sunday Blues: Detroit basks while Cleveland...?
I'm kind of split on the issue; but the thing that sticks out in my mind is this: If you put a dome on Browns Stadium, why even bother building it near the lake in the first place? I like the whole lakefront atmosphere, and with a dome, you wouldn't be able to see Ohio's greatest natural feature!

Louisville, KY: Museum Plaza
I kind of like it; it is definitely bizarre (but not so much as to call it an eyesore). This will definitely transform the Louisville skyline and IMO I think it is good to have this "statement skyscraper" (if you will) in Middle America!!!

You Know You're From Mississippi....
You know you're from Ohio if... You don't think of Florida first when someone mentions Miami. You snicker when someone's from Tiffin, because you think of the State Hospital. You think Pro football teams are supposed to wear orange! You've heard of 3.2% beer. Schools close for the state basketball tournament. Deer season, too. You're proud of your state fair, but would rather go to Cedar Point. You know all the 4 seasons: Winter, Still Winter, Almost Winter, and Construction. You live less than 30 miles from some college or university. You know what a buckeye really is, and have a recipe for candy ones. "Toward the lake" means "north" and "toward the river" means "south." You've heard of the Great Nickel Beer Night Riot. You know if other Ohioians are from southern or northern Ohio as soon as they open their mouths. I have always wondered what this means; is it the accents from the different parts of the state, or something physical??? I never was able to figure this one out You root for a college team though you've never taken a class there. You can spell words like Cuyahoga, Olentangy, Bellefontaine, and Tuscarawas *(Wapakoneta?) and you know which letter is doubled in "Cincinnati." You always visit more than two amusement parks in one summer. You know that Serpent Mounds were not made by snakes. You know what game they're playing when the Mud Hens take on the Clippers. "Vacation" means spending a day at Cedar Point or King's Island. You measure distance in minutes. .Down south to you means Kentucky. Your school classes were canceled because of cold. Your school classes were canceled because of heat. You've ridden the school bus for an hour each way. You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day. You know what's knee-high by the Fourth of July. You end your sentences with an unnecessary preposition. Example: "Where's my coat at?" You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked. You think of the major four food groups as beef, pork, beer, and Jell-O salad with marshmallows. You carry jumper cables in your car. You know what pop is. You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit. Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow. You think sexy lingerie is tube socks and a flannel nightie. The local paper covers national and international headlines on one page but requires 6 pages for sports. You think that deer season is a national holiday. You know which leaves make good toilet paper. You thought that the Michael Stanley Band was the most popular band in the country. You actually understand these jokes then forward 'em to all your OH friends!!

Hollywood name drops Cincinnati
I just saw Gummo a couple of weeks ago with a group of friends here at college in Illinois. To say the least, I was pretty offended by it. I had to tell everyone there that Ohio is not that god-forsaken shit-hole as portrayed in the movie. Even though I have never been through Xenia, I knew that the portrayal of rural Ohio was pretty much false. (Now I'm sure there are places like that scattered throughout the state--throughout EVERY state--but I could not believe this movie was suppose to be the average, everyday life of small-town impoverished Ohioans). On the other hand, I would see the movie again. It is very disturbing; but it does have some cinematic value.

Become A Republican *FLASH ANIMATION* - LOL
You must be from Cincinnati... Come on now, you must mean Cincinnati Suburb (JUST KIDDING; I've learned my lesson, I don't want to get lynched anymore LOL) But that Become a Republican was so funny; I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! Yet, for some reason, I'm still not persuaded to become a Republican........

yo we got mad snow! (updated)
Actually it hit the MidSouth first. I have friends in Memphis that got hit on Friday. It completely shut the region down. Even the few friends I have in Atlanta say, on saturday/early sunday, they got off and on light snow showers as the temperatures dipped to about 30 Yeah the snow started in Arkansas and worked its way northeastward. What I meant was the "nor'easter" effect. The lows that develop off of the coast so rapidly that it is tough to predict such massive snowfalls; there may be a day (or possibly two) at best!!! :)

National Geographic sprawl picture
And also, if you look very closely (and it's too bad this map doesn't show Canada), but there is a sprawl "ring" around Lake Erie.
