  1. It'll be a tough decision between voting for him and Sherrod Brown. But regardless, both men are good and right for the job, and I will stand behind whichever one wins the primary.

What the hell? Walmart wants to build in Lorain. They also want to build one in Oberlin (just south of Lorain). AND they also want to build in Vermilion (just west of Lorain). We're talking less than a 10-mile radius!
  3. Crazy Fostoria: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=fostoria,+ohio&ll=41.162346,-83.413938&spn=0.060223,0.171661
  4. I am familiar with US 24 from Napoleon, Ohio to I-469 outside of Fort Wayne (we used to go that way from Norwalk to visit family). And a 4-lane highway would be great! Following all of those semi's and idiot drivers who drive like two feet behind you on an unusually curvy, winding road (unusual in that that part of the state is the most flat) is really nerve-wracking!
  5. Jim Petro the self-proclaimed good Christian (just see his boastful television ads) What an a**hole
  6. Not a big deal......... :)

  9. Looks like a fun place to visit! :-D
  10. And yet, Ohio's overall population growth is minimal!
  11. Why? I am sure it was tongue-in-cheek about Cincinnati's conservative reputation. Yeah, pretty much. :)
  12. Wow. I am not surprised that this is being built in the Cincinnati area.
  13. Elyria also has Cascade Park. Here's a picture from cascade park of the waterfalls of the Black River: (courtesy of http://www.epa.gov/glnpo/image/vbig/343.jpg) And didn't the Midway Mall in Elyria have a mini-zoo at one time???

    .........dirty politics
  16. Now why would WNWO NBC24 Toledo's transmission tower be located near the West Virginia border? Actually the tower is in Jerusalem Township, Ohio........just east of the Toledo suburb of Oregon, Ohio.
  17. *cough* bullshit *cough*
  18. You can still tell what area is most favored by the county government, though (Sandusky/Perkins/Huron/Margeretta) and that area has most of the population. Erie County spent millions in infrastructure and tax abatements, etc. for Kalahari; benefitting Perkins Erie County decided to run water lines along all county and township roads, with Perkins/Huron/Margeretta township residents having to pay a lower rate The county's involvement with Quarry business park in Margeretta And I understand that this is the most populous part of Erie County (the northwest portion); and so development will occur at a much faster pace there. I guess I'm just the typical rural resident ranting on about "those city slickers" LOL :) But honestly, in my little part of Erie County, we are lucky to get the roads plowed! :)

I hate Toll Roads! I drive the Ohio turnpike for 118 miles, the entire Indiana toll road, the Tri-State tollway near Chicago, and the Ronald Reagon tollway west of Chicago! Money money money $$$

OMG! I went to the same high school as her; and I knew of her and her brother Clinton. :-D Told ya it was a small town!
  21. But this is the problem with Sandusky; they have the nicest, trendiest, most thought-provoking ideas, BUT they never come to fruition. I lived in Sandusky for about 12 years as a child and have lived in Erie County my whole life; and I have seen and heard of countless good ideas come and fade into the distance. But, it's good that that city's leaders are thinking progressively (it's just that neighboring Perkins Township steals most of the business away, even without a lakeshore). These indoor water parks would be very impressive if they were on the lake, but alas, one is next to Meijer's, Steak 'n Shake, and a mall parking lot. While another is in a wide open, treeless, dull farm field; and another slated to open will be just across the street with a similar setting. None of these 3 waterparks are in the city of Sandusky. Cedar Point's waterpark is, and it is on the lake (I like that). But personally, I could care less about Sandusky and that part of Erie County (because that area is what the county government ALWAYS focuses its attention on). Other areas, like where my parents live, Vermilion, Milan, Berlin Heights, etc. often get snubbed. Oh well, at least we went to Kerry in the 2004 election! :-D We're doing something right!
