Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
Uh we shakerites would never want to pull our trash to the curb, are u out of your mind? I will gladly pay the taxes! It’s bad enough just to pull it out of the garage…. in fact we are going to probably raise taxes to build new schools soon…. Ha anyway back to Van Aken, so disappointed in that qua Buick design, we get a beautiful modern glass high rise and then boom right back to cookie cutter boring blah… you’d think an architecture firm designing a building in part for themselves would want something a little more flashy! Maybe I’m alone on that IDK.

KJP, I saw on shaker’s oct 25th council meeting that the city and RMS entered into a lease agreement on the land for the new van Aken apartments and future office building site at chagrin warrensville. They did so in order for RMS to apply for TMUD on the 18 story apartment project. Wasn’t sure if you had seen this as it wasn’t on the last article I read about potential applicants. Thought it was interesting and hopefully not a sign that financing has a hole…- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Regarding the lighting, Sherwin has a unique opportunity with the slope roofline and middle cutout that I hope they don’t miss. Sherwin neon paint can logo at top elevation that “tips” over with light change and when it does so, LED “paint” runs down the slope to the middle cutout and down to ground level. Rough illustration attached. Doesn’t need to be continuous, maybe a show it does every so often and can obviously change to whatever their feature seasonal color is.- Suburban Cleveland: Development and News

If you go up thread there is a link to the latest planning commission meeting which goes in depth on everything and you will get your explanation on what PAL means along with what’s included in each phase. You just have to fast forward thru the dumb council questions. While the website may not be up to date, they have been public with their plans, no need to be upset with them being secretive. Also, it’s not public debt, the airlines are who will end up paying for the new airport, money not spent here can’t be spent elsewhere such on 3c or the like.- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
