  1. Nobody involved wants to admit this, but the entire project has been a major dud - which anybody actually living on campus in the late 90s/early 00s could have predicted. You knocked down a ton of cool looking old buildings and replaced them with Panera and T-Mobile shops which can be found literally anywhere. Wherever your oldest grandparent currently resides, guaranteed there's a strip mall within 2 miles that looks exactly like this Gateway crap. The official stated purpose for demolishing south campus, of course, was the "high crime rate," but that basically hasn't changed, and everyone saw through that empty soundbite, regardless. It was really all about the dollar signs...in which case, yeah, I'm sure some of the figures involved have seen a profit from this, but not to the extent they envisioned, and plenty of business owners lost their asses getting mixed up with this project.
  2. This might be slightly off topic but does anyone know where to get back issues/archives of The Other Paper, Columbus Monthly, Alive! et cetera. Looking up anything historical online has actually turned in to a maddening process. Maybe it's true that "everything" is online...but if so, that's just the problem - everything's online! If you can't find something then it may as well not exist. I was trying to look up an address for an old club tonight (Not Al's Rockers, if you must know) and can find out absolutely nothing about that place. Although it did lead me here, so I suppose that's something. Anyway...any information about old magazines, newspapers, and other resources would be appreciated. I will pay for them if necessary.
