Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway Megaproject
Ken Prendergast of NEOTRANS penned an article in February of this year. Supposedly, Bedrock was purchasing the former nuCLEus site opposite of Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse and there was talk of a new skyscraper potentially rising on this site. It would be as tall or taller than the new Sherwin Williams tower.

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway Megaproject
Any more news or chattering about a large scale skyscraper (similar to the Hudson's Tower in Detroit) that NEOTRANS had written about prior? Supposedly there was talk of a tower being built here in Cleveland that could eclipse the height of Key Tower ... 🙀

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
It was a beautiful Sunday to be out and about in Cleveland. I paused to capture these images of the Sherwin-Williams global headquarters under construction. It's so nice to see these large cranes onsite. I love to see this type of progress in our city. 20220320_135415.mp4

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
@KJP, of course I realize that these drawings are only for massing purposes. I just hope that the actual tower doesn't come out in a very similar form. In these forums, everyone is entitled to and shares their individual opinions. I certainly didn't say I am unappreciative of this work performed by @Geowizical. In fact, I enjoy his various renderings in this and other threads.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I'm happy to hear the latest newsflash particularly related to the slight increase in the buildings height. However, I find the look of the mock-up to be extremely underwhelming. Of course the aesthetics can ultimately be quite alluring depending upon the exterior details ... type and coloring of glass as well as any decorative touches or rooftop illumination and ornamentation. I'd love to see something dramatic atop this tower (a giant illuminated paint can that spins and changes colors) Hoping that what finally comes to fruition will stun every single forum member here due to its transformative and incredibly beautiful appeal. Fingers crossed and rubbing my lucky rabbits foot!!!! 😜😄❤👌

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Just look at this dynamic and ultra modern skyscraper coming to SoBro in Nashville. Plans were released today to the Nashville media. 😲 It's one of several new towers going up there. Wouldn't it be amazing if Sherwin-Williams were to surprise Cleveland with something as equally dramatic? We can all DREAM ... Can't we? 🤔

Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
A 39-story pathogen tower? Where?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Abysmal is the first word that came to my mind when considering that our homegrown legacy company of Sherwin-Williams is essentially going to plop down a copy and paste of Oklahoma City's BOK PARK TOWER in Cleveland's central core. What's even more disturbing are their plans to put a paint museum and a potential retail store on the space fronting our signature greenspace of Public Square. WTF? 🙄😒😔 As so many of us have articulated on this forum I feel that Cleveland deserves so much more than this - especially in such an important and highly prized location. It's really too bad that the city and county who have already committed many millions of tax dollars could not have some say in what exactly goes where. For example, why can't there be a stipulation on what is constructed closest to the square. As others have posted, I believe if Sherwin-Williams wants a museum celebrating their history it would be much better placed among the other low-rise buildings in the Warehouse District. As for the museum concept I am not a fan. Remember when the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was built? We were all told that it would bring millions of tourists to Cleveland annually. Since that time the best that museum has ever accomplished is something around 500,000 visitors on an annual basis. Bearing this in mind, why would anybody in their right mind think that a paint museum is suitable in such a prominent location? 🤔 My feeling is that this wouldn't be anything less than a complete FLOP. Sherwin-Williams is a conservative company we all get that. However, why wouldn't they want to DO IT UP in grand style for this once in a lifetime venture. If we're lucky enough, perhaps they will install an iconic rooftop element or a crown. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I would be delighted if Sherwin-Williams would "borrow" the original design for either the once proposed AmeriTrust Tower or the Progressive Insurance Tower. It would appear that there was more "forward thinking" thirty plus years ago when it comes to building something grand and iconic. While both of those proposals hail from the late-1980s, they were both unusual and would be far more iconic than anything resembling the BOK PARK TOWER in Oklahoma City. Note to Sherwin-Williams Execs: Please don't build a glass cereal box on our fabulous Public Square. It will not do justice for your celebrated company nor for the ongoing renaissance of our Downtown. Cleveland deserves to have a refreshed and a 21st century appeal, particularly for the talent pool you are seeking. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Oh, Dear God, No! 😬 I recoiled after reading the rumours of a 25 and a separate 20-story "building" barely reaching the skies over Public Square. I am very hopeful that this is merely a bad joke and that there's zero validity to such a disturbing missive. Perhaps, @KJP will dig deeper and deeper to root out the REAL STORY concerning what could end up being either an iconic skyscraper or just a mediocre flop in the epicenter of our beloved metropolis. I'm now reaching for my flask after my eyes fell upon this unsettling entry in the SAGA OF SHERWIN-WILLIAMS in Cleveland. 😔😱😬😲🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
These "unofficial" renderings portray a very tall skyscraper. Where do these unofficial renderings emanate from, @Geowizical? Are these renderings pretty close in appearance to what we might expect to see rising on our city skyline? Thanks for sharing. 👍💯👍
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
@KJP, Impressive renderings even if they are "unofficial!" 😜😉😅
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Gawd my exact same thoughts! 😱🤦♂️😲 I looked at that shared image and literally shuddered. 😱 If those are mock-ups of what Sherwin-Williams plans on constructing, they appear to be abysmally BORING and less than ICONIC. Thankfully, I am sure these models are probably not what the company has plans on building at Public Square.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
As others have stated it is very difficult for me as well to gain any sense of excitement with regards to anything involving the nuCLEus development. Six long years later and even the mere mentioning of nuCLEus sounds almost profane in nature. Will I feel differently if and when this development happens? Of course, but only then. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
When we finally do get to see these renderings, I just may be inclined to finally remove my 😷 and go out for a celebratory drink. 😅 Of course, this would depend upon what these renderings actually look like. 🤦♂️🤔🤪 Like others here on the forum, I believe we should expect something that is striking in appearance and hopefully in scale.

Cleveland: Downtown: Magellan-Weston project
Absolutely thrilled at the potential for yet another tower rising on our city skyline. However ... 🤔 I won't hold my breath! We still haven't seen one single shovel of dirt for the nuCLEus project. 🙄 Still, the prospect of this tower from a well regarded Chicago developer does perhaps offer a bit more optimism.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
This is a cool looking tower, but perhaps just a tad bit overdone and too busy. I do like the large lettering near the top, however.
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I openly share my disappointment in hearing from another "source" that the Sherwin-Williams new HQ may actually be considerably less tall than what @KJP has heard. 600 to 675 feet isn't exactly rivaling in height to the lofty Key Tower. I share in the hope that what the new SHW HQ may lose in overall height, it will make up in architectural style and texture. Like others here, I would hope for more glass in the tower and some type of unique spire or a crown. Another tall building with just a flat roof would be so disappointing for such a prominent location in the epicenter of the city. I am fervently hopeful that @KJP has more of the inside track on just what the actual floor count and height will turn out to be. Waiting with baited breath ... 🤗
-
Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
These renderings are quite impressive. With Circle Square finally becoming a reality just imagine the spinoff development possibilities in University Circle ... And, dare I say in nearby Glenville and in the extreme western portions of neighboring East Cleveland. Who knows just what a positive catalyst this can be for areas that time hasn't been particularly kind to. I believe in the coming years the progress we are seeing in UC will continue to push eastward into East Cleveland.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
So is there any viable news on the actual 'latest' status of nuCLEus? 6 years later and still not a single shovel in the ground. Stark has either given up or he just isn't prepared to move forward.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I'm putting this out there because I know that I am not the only forum denizen to wonder if this pandemic may halt or greatly alter Sherwin-Williams plans on erecting a large corporate headquarters tower in Downtown Cleveland. With no foreseeable ending of the pandemic right now, many large companies are looking long and hard at the usage of their respective offices. ??? Sherwin-Williams is mentioned in this article. https://www.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2020/08/some-northeast-ohio-corporations-on-the-fence-about-downsizing-office-footprints-for-a-post-covid-work-from-home-world.html

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
With so much happening in recent month's, I know that many of us have had our thoughts elsewhere ... However, I must wonder and ask if anyone has become hip to any solid information on the actual look and scale of Sherwin-Williams forthcoming corporate headquarters tower. It's been several months, so I thought perhaps someone on the forum may have heard a sliver or two from somewhere. I'm still cautiously optimistic that the company will build something unique and even transformative in spite of their conservatism. @KJP, any tidbits to share?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
This is such fantastic news!!!! The realization that the sea of parking lot's ringing the Western perimeter of Public Square will be no more is cause for much celebration. Downtown Cleveland was already reawakening 5 year's ago, but this NEW headquarters is simply the icing on our city's very rich cake. I am so excited for the future as this project will almost certainly become a catalyst for more large-scale developments in the CBD. As for a headquarters that will be in the 30-story range ... I am a bit underwhelmed at that prospect, but a win is still a WIN!!! Who knows, once the renderings are released we may all be pleasantly surprised. A lower height tower doesn't mean that it can't be architecturally striking. I very much look forward to this announcement by Sherwin-Williams. ?❤?

Cleveland: Random Development and News
I am also wondering if this mystery MEGA PROJECT (company or development) that @KJP mentioned in Cleveland's future is this latest acquisition by Cleveland Cliffs? I was under the impression (initially) that perhaps a corporation that is larger than the behemoth Progressive Casualty Insurance Co. was planning on building an enormous presence in our city ... In the form of a brand new headquarters or just by moving here. @KJP, please spill the beans ... Was the mysterious MEGA COMPANY / PROJECT coming to town this latest acquisition by Cleveland Cliffs?? Inquiring forum member's are dying to know ... ???????????????

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Perhaps, Sherwin-Williams will surprise us all by constructing an unexpected (but rumoured) 75-stories tall tower that would be iconic among America's cities. We can still dream can't we ... Until we are all notified via an official announcement from the company. Sherwin-Williams may have the LAST LAUGH upon all of us who are thirsty and salivating forum member's. ?????
