Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Knowing @marty15, his teaser at the end had nothing to do with construction and I was having some fun with that? Move along everyone and go Browns.

Probably KJP’s mystery mega project ?

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Ok Pat I’d like to solve the puzzle; what is Jimmy Haslam’s stadium & lakefront plan including a new state-of-the-art hq for Pilot/Flying J?! Hell yeah!!??

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
The likelier participants are probably the cultural anchors right next door to the stadium and a potential land bridge/CC expansion yes?

Wow, so we’ve got that lurking behind the scenes right now....could they potentially team up or coordinate with Pace on a “Patriot Place” type development around the edges of FES or are we looking at a completely new location?

Brook Park / Walton Hills: Ford Plant Redevelopments
Yeah, totally agree here; as awesome and exciting as the SW news is, these Ford plants coming back to life will ultimately have a far greater impact on our local & regional economy as the spin-off, supplier, contracting, trucking jobs etc are created. Huge win for the area if true! *great job @KJP on this, per usual?

Cleveland: Downtown: Progressive Field
Yeah, @KJP, @marty15‘s dad is my dad too?. I’m a 16 yr old hs junior-to-be in the pic looking out at the scoreboard and TT; 4 yrs at JCU couldn’t ultimately keep me from the building trades even if it was the carpenters and not my dad’s pipe fitter union....best decision I ever made.

Good to see another tradesman here! Can you say who/where you’re working for?

The Amish are pretty good at furniture & barns, but I wouldn’t take a laser or level into an Amish-built house to check anything for plumb, level or square. Just saying

Cleveland: Ohio City: Church+State (West 29th & Detroit Ave)
I don’t want to continue to nit-pick this topic but “100% Union” in these instances normally only apply to the job site, not construction materials, finishes, suppliers etc. if that turns out to be the case then that’s great but I’ve never understood these agreements to reach that far off the job site. Just want to minimize any confusion regarding “prevailing-wage” or “100% Union” jobs.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Church+State (West 29th & Detroit Ave)
Ok, thanks for clarifying; I’m a Union Carpenter and I can tell you that I’ve been on a number of all-Union jobs where the pre-fabbed walls & whatnot came from Amish or various non-union shops.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Church+State (West 29th & Detroit Ave)
@Klingaling87, he means the walls were probably pre-fabbed in a shop somewhere by Amish; the trades on the job site are all Union

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
As intriguing as that possibility is, I’m still favoring them (finally) developing the Jacobs & Weston blocks; those are just a huge gaping hole in our downtown fabric that can be solved with essentially one user/project.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
If this comes to fruition I’d love to see some effort to bring the CVSR north into this project with it terminating at the old B&O station in the flats, with the possibility of it growing into a commuter route to points south/Akron. i love the vision of this project; especially if the riverfront connection can be made.

Agree with you here; I don’t have a problem with the exposed steel structure but could we get a new paint scheme in green or red? The off-white is so blah and any kind of rust shows up immediately. I’m definitely in favor of some color if they’re considering an exterior facelift. The rest of the park is outstanding.

Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
^Second this; I don’t understand the claim that construction costs in Cleveland are comparable to NYC/Chi/coastal metro’s...with what I know about Union trades wages in those towns I find this claim impossible to believe. Does someone have data to support this?

That curved Tudor-esque bldg reminds me of the Cedar-Fairmount intersection in the Heights.....what a loss☹️

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
If SW does pick the PS location, is the Jacobs Group assumed to be the developer? Or would they purchase the lot and develop it themselves (the RFQ sent out)?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Maybe Stark’s Nucleus delay is because he’s dusting off the original 54-story Jenga tower design with the sky bridge and using that as the starting point for SW? The location would make some sense, though I’m thinking we’d all prefer a Public Square/Weston lots location. If any of this is true would SW buy this property from Stark and hire their own developer or use Stark as the developer? His track record doing anything of this scale is unknown, to be kind.

The State Office bldg isn’t across Superior.

So you’re saying Bob Stark is wooing SW for Nucleus??!!? Im kidding, right?

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I can remember my dad taking my bro’s and I up to Conneaut Harbor in the 80’s now and then to watch the Huletts there unload the giant “boats” (not called ships on the GL); the interplay between the boats, the Huletts, and the trains was mesmerizing to me then and led to my fascination with the American steel industry, Great Lakes shipping, and Midwestern industrial railroading. Intermodal shipping indeed?
