Kind of reminds me of colored Lego blocks. I dig it!

I believe the Filing Cabinet (Rhodes Tower) has some new exterior lighting now. The large squares at the very top on the south and west sides of the building were lit up red this morning. I’ll try and get a pic sometime.

That building logo looks like a logo for a little child’s toy or something. Very infantile.

They have started to lay bricks

Residences at Topiary Park update: we have some trees planted!

Those black boxes on the lower corners of this building house exterior lights, really hope they convert these to LEDs and give this building some flair at night!

Quarry Trails updates: This park definitely did not live up to the hype for me, building these subjectively ugly apartments in/around it feels odd and detracts from the whole park experience.

Was doing some research and discovered the old School for the Deaf used to have 2 tall towers which were later removed in 1970. Kind of a shame. At least the building still stands though. VS now:

I hope they eventually give some LED treatment to the William Green Building, it has some interesting setbacks and that awesome crown.

Did anyone go to the CDDC Workshop #2 at the main library on Tuesday? I’m curious as to what updates they had.

Whoever designed Rhodes must have taken inspiration from a filing cabinet. It’s terrible.

I spotted this new place on Google Maps titled Columbus Station (Amtrak) over by the Brewery District . Anyone have any ideas? Not sure if this is a legit marker or some random person made it.

You’re welcome! I’ve been looking through all the historic photos on the Columbus Metropolitan Library website and there are some incredible things in there!

A proposal for transforming downtown in the 60s. Glad this didn’t happen, especially the weird Reese's Cups on the river.

Was going through some old Columbus skyline photos from the 80s and noticed that at one time the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation building’s crown used to light up. Too bad they can’t update it with some LED lighting, would really enhance the skyline.

I was watching the trailer for the TV series ‘Gotham’ and thought I recognized the big 3 Cleveland skyscrapers in the fictional Gotham skyline! They appear on the left side. In a WSJ article the director states the skyline was made using buildings all over the world that have a gothic aesthetic to them.

Agreed. MKSK's proposal is exceptionally amazing. They have some quality work.

I was reading through the proposal and I thought this was an interesting tidbit. It sounds like they want to make the confluence a “crown jewel” of the park system with a new tower. They also proposed some additions to the Scioto Mile. The whole proposal is here.
