  1. I found a website with some new renders of this proposed tower. More here.
  2. And here are the other renders: http://wxyarchitecture.com/columbus_bridge.html. I’m on mobile otherwise I would save and post the photos.
  3. Here’s another one: http://www.rosalespartners.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/RP-Scioto-Downtown-Pedestrian-Bridge.pdf
  4. I thought I read somewhere Columbus was planning on having colored smoke come out of the Municipal Light smokestack on game day, I think that’s a pretty cool feature that Cincinnati does not have. Maybe they might add special lighting to it as well.
  5. I talked with someone from ODOT and they said there was a statewide meeting about this recent Amtrak talk and the following quote paraphrases what was said in the meeting: “There would have to be federal legislative changes as well as state legislative changes and neither DeWine nor ODOT is entertaining questions about Amtrak because no steps have been taken to even develop a proposal for statewide trains. The takeaway from the meeting is that it is still a pipe dream.”
  6. The plot of land just across from the Scioto Audubon park has been mostly cleared of all the brush and industrial debris. Not sure if this is being done for the new Zimmer project. There used to be a large homeless camp in the trees but it has since been displaced.
  7. The architecture almost reminds me of streamline moderne buildings with the curved edges and “fin” at the top like that.

I can just picture a big Ferris wheel in the arena district...one can wish.
  9. Agreed. They had it all lit up and it was eye catching for sure
  10. I was downtown this evening and it looks like they have new Crew branding up on the Municipal Light smokestack. Wasn’t able to get a picture of it sadly. It really stands out all the way from the Broad Street bridge
  11. Stumbled across this new rendering in the BizJournal of the new tower
  12. I don’t understand this. A skyline is usually the first impression you have of a city and the fact that hardly any of the buildings have decent lighting just makes downtown seem lifeless after sunset.
  13. Right? It looks like a creepy abandoned building after hours. A little bit of lighting would do wonders especially since it has nice architecture.
  14. I sure hope they add some good signage at the top or at least some nice uplighting so it could stand out at night. Cincinnati and Cleveland sure do know how to make their skyscrapers look impressive with external lighting.
