Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Chazz Michael Michaels replied to mrclifton88's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionStill hard to get my head around a 900K Sq Ft complex that doesn't involve going tall. I sure hope that the folks deciding on the courthouse tower read some of the stories about SHW and decide not do make the same mistake and to build taller from the start.

Cleveland: Which Project Will Be Next and Why
Chazz Michael Michaels replied to Htsguy's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionUpdated list based on Cliffs latest decision. Still not sure when/if news will ever arrive on the skyline changing hotel. My take from trying to keep on all of the articles is that the list below is probably in order of most likely outcome?? From my list (which would a wish list): -Justice Center Courthouse Tower -SWH Tower II -Rocket Mortgage Tower -New Skyline-changing Hotel?? -Lumen II?? -New Jones Day Cleveland HQ/Back-Office (wishful thinking for new build)? -Something else!!!! Out of contention: -New Cleveland Cliffs HQ???

Cleveland: Which Project Will Be Next and Why
Chazz Michael Michaels replied to Htsguy's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionGreat article as per usual. Sounds like SHW HQ2, Bedrock Riverfront and the new Courthouse are the front runners for next. Please- for all that is holy - I hope that if the Cliffs/US Steel deal goes through, I hope KJP's sources are just posturing with this suburban campus stuff. Don't end up like Progressive and Eaton out in the suburbs wishing you weren't CLF

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Taking the long view here. Getting Progressive out of some of their large suburban office park in the short-term - would hopefully give us a chance to see them grow and need more space in the future (ideally downtown) https://www.cleveland.com/news/2024/04/progressive-is-officially-putting-its-former-main-headquarters-on-the-market.html

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Didn't SHW want their vendors to have a building nearby? Let them have this one and build a proper 50 story building. They've already said they are delaying move in. So get HQ2 right and let your vendors move in - they'll even have access to a museum - fun for them. :)

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Could there be a collaboration with a national hotel brand in a mixed use project for HQ2 that provides parking, office space and a hotel that becomes our "skyline changing" new hotel. 21C is an interesting hotel brand that might be interested

Chazz Michael Michaels replied to Htsguy's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionFor those in the know - which is not me, which is the most likely new "whale" project to get underway. From my list (which would a wish list): -Justice Center Courthouse Tower -SWH Tower II -Rocket Mortgage Tower -New Cleveland Cliffs HQ??? -Lumen II?? -New Skyline-changing Hotel?? -New Jones Day Cleveland HQ/Back-Office (wishful thinking for new build)? -Something else!!!!

Cleveland: Hotel Development
Chazz Michael Michaels replied to ClevelandOhio's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI figured out what the skyline changing hotel/residential development is. It's the Ferrari tower, hotel and residences Part Deux!! :)

Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/automakers-urge-white-house-oppose-173957540.html To be honest, I have mixed emotions about this one. I don't like monopolies but I also don't like the idea of key US manufacturing capabilities being held by a foreign nation (even if it is one that is currently an ally).

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
Isn't he just saying that you have to have housing for your citizens at all income levels (i.e., we can't just build super luxurious apartments that only a few can afford"? A thriving downtown is only bustling if all of it's residents can afford to live there.

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Chazz Michael Michaels replied to mrclifton88's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionGreat article - as per usual. I am one of those high-rise lovers that will shed a tear if a tall building isn't built for the courthouse tower. Having said that, new development in the city is a win and I'm excited to see what they come up with.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Amazing!!! Now we just need Cliffs to gobble up USX and to build a similarly sized headquarters. A boy can dream!!!!!

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Perfectly said. This is the ambitious vision for Cleveland that the city needs to embrace. So many macro-trends favor our city. SHW seemingly recognizes it and they are building symbols that will hopefully help others see it.

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway Megaproject
Some much opportunity for development - even if not supertall structures. Lots of potential and excitement - unlike what I felt about the city in some time.

Cleveland: Random Visualizations & Massings
Chazz Michael Michaels replied to Geowizical's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionGEO: Would it be too much to ask for a render of what the city skyline would look like with all of the potential new buildings developed. This seems to be such an exciting time for the city - with so much potential and finally some trends that favor the city. Do I have all of the potential developments right: -SHW HQ2 -Justice Center Courthouse Tower -Potential Cliffs HQ -Rocket Mortgage Tower -New CAVS training facility + Cleveland Clinic -Playhouse Square 2??? I'm sure I'm missing something and KJP usually has a mystery project or two up his sleave. :)

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway Megaproject
Any chance this lot could be used for a Justice Center courthouse tower??

WFH is not going away. Companies that have embraced it have do so because they think their employees (current and future want this flexibility). However, that doesn't mean that companies will need new or different space. For example, if you can work from home or on a hybrid work schedule, do/will companies want or need suburban office campuses - or is a centrally located office more attractive. Only time will tell - but, for this reason, Progressive shouldn't immediately be discounted.
