  1. Great article. Any chances of news on a new courthouse tower in 2022?
  2. You had me at significant office component. :)
  3. For a new courts tower? That would be amazing!!!
  4. My understanding, which is based solely from reading posts here at UO, is that the height of the tower(s) for the Magellan project were not disclosed. The unofficial rendering had a 30+ story tower for a hotel and an smaller tower for an office. That said, I believe the key for the Magellan project is that they own an attractive site and had the flexibility to work with the prospective office tenant to meet their needs. To me, that means get on the phone with Cliffs and figure out what there needs are and address them in your second planned tower. But, I'm not a developer.
  5. From a post from KJP earlier this year. At a minimum, it looks like if they did expand to 200 PS, their set-up would be highly inefficient. I'm hoping the CEO is the empire builder that KJP has suggested and that he looks to build new (perhaps anchors the Magellan project). If I were Magellan, I'd be on the phone with Cliffs daily!!!
  6. To quote my good friend Ted Lasso "Believe". Just kidding. I'll hold out hopes for the courthouse tower then.
  7. Sherwin-Williams HQ construction starts (PHOTOS) By Ken Prendergast / November 29, 2021 "Also underway is the $80 million renovation of the Renaissance Hotel into a luxury Cleveland Hotel, located across Superior from the new SHW HQ. Future projects could include the demolition of the Rockefeller garage for a major development and the proposed, but on-hold Magellan development." I'm still hoping KJP has a surprise lurking out there for us. An early Christmas present that has yet to be announced. The $400M in developments that are already underway are amazing - but I'm asking Santa for another new development this year. Courthouse tower??? Browns Lakefront Vision? Bedrock: Vision for the Valley Let's dream big Cleveland
  8. Wishful thinking on my part. I thought I had read in one of your earlier articles that Cliffs was looking to move quickly (or at least quicker than SHW has moved).
  9. I just wanted to add my thanks to all of the posters, commenters and readers of UrbanOhio. The constant stream of messages helps those outside of Ohio (like myself) stay connect to the developments in the state and in our amazing cities. As we finish out 2021, I hope we can all remember what an amazing country it is that we live in, how truly fortunate we are and how similar (in spite of all of the loud political commentary being hurled from both directions) we all really are. A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. Keep the posts coming and here is too some amazing developments in 2022!!
  10. Could Benesch be an anchor tenant for the Magellan project?
  11. Somehow, worrying about the changing name of a sports team seems right about 45's level of leadership you'd expect. He must have written that note during "executive time" If that moronic traitor is against it, I'm even more in favor of it!!! Where to I get some gear? GO GUARDIANS, BIGLY!!!!!!! If someone tells Donnie that Putin said he liked the name-change (and that he said it very strongly and very powerfully) maybe then he'd like it Maybe he and King Jong-Un can exchange some additional love letters about the name change
  12. I disagree. Guardians is a great choice!!! Unless you are still going to see Dodgers games in Brooklyn, or Colts games in Baltimore - progress happens. The Charlotte Bobcats are now the Hornets, the Oilers are the Titans, the Bullets are the Wizards, etc, etc etc
  13. I'm hoping you are hinting at a forthcoming article?
  14. Sounds a lot like Pickard Chilton's 1144 Fifteenth in Denver:
  15. My vote(s) would be: -Wherever CLF decides to build their new HQ. The reason being it sounds like they need to space and are looking to move quickly. I don't know if they consider Nucleus for their space or Magellan but wherever they go, I'd assume their presence would be a major infusion to a given project. -New Courthouse Tower. This is a bit selfish - because I want to see what they come up with. Also, I'm hoping the potential $$ savings from a new building is enough to move this project to the head of the class. No insider knowledge - just reading the tea leaves and a little wishful thinking
  16. Talk about the jail is important but is there any insight on the tower? If memory serves me correctly, estimates for the courthouse tower were anywhere from 800k-1.0M sq. ft. That puts the possible tower in the neighborhood of the Eagleton Federal Courthouse in St. Louis. SHW, possibly a Nucleus tower and a large courthouse tower would create an amazing new skyline. Here is hoping the development committee doesn't go with a mid-rise courthouse tower.
  17. They, NWM, even built a similar but slightly shorter residential tower near their headquarters. For SHW, this could be a mixed-use tower (apartments and a hotel). Both were designed by Pickard Chilton
  18. Everything I am reading leads me to seriously thing SHW tower is essentially going to be Northwestern Mutual's Milwaukee headquarters with 4 extra floors and without the curved front:
  19. Wait - Am I (are we) supposed to know what that lighter blue thing is? I feel like I should and maybe my brain has already started celebrating the 4th - but I got nothing!!!
  20. Boston's Seaport is this type of an investment. This can be done. What the plan needs are some anchor Corporate Tenants (e.g., CLF or the Justice Center) and some Retail investors (restaurants, shops, etc) and the people will come. It's just as cold and windy in Boston in the winter and the Seaport has supported 23 million sq feet of investment
  21. Yes and yes to your questions
  22. I can wait a month. I'm totally lying - there is no way I can wait an actual, whole, human month. Dammit, man. :)
  23. Am I the only one that picked up on this? Maybe a new thread is required but I'm dying over here!!!
  24. I'll buy the 500,000 definition. I had CLF in there as I thought in your article there was a mention about them potentially anchoring a larger investment such that other companies (e.g., vendors that support them) could co-locate. This other building has been mentioned publicly before??????? The Justice Center Courthouse as part of the lakefront plan would make a lot of sense - and would just generally be awesome!!!!
