Columbus: Near East Side / King-Lincoln / Olde Towne East Developments and News
CMHOhio replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think I say this after every @NorthShore647 photo update, but I absolutely freakin' love OTE and the development currently happening in the neighborhood. If/when I move back to Columbus, that's the first place I'll look.

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
CMHOhio replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAs a child, I always remember being in the car with my parents driving down North Star and Lane Ave. towards 315 and wondering to myself if, by the year 2000, the skyline footprint would grow all the way to where it reached Upper Arlington. It's 22 years later than I expected, but from this angle it kinda looks like my dream came true!

Columbus: Italian Village Developments and News
CMHOhio replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionCompletely agree. It's a very handsome building and the side mural only enhances it. Not just Clintonville but plenty of other neighborhood projects could use equal attention to detail and aesthetics.

Columbus: Random Development and News
CMHOhio replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'm partial to the view from I-670 heading East from about Grandview Ave. until right around where it passes over Neil Ave. I always found the skyline view from Greenlawn Ave. or Route 104 almost directly south made for a unique skyline view. Funny enough, I recall a Joe Blundo column from the Dispatch where he stated he liked the skyline view from the south best. Something about the way the skyline kinda just springs up out of nothing when coming up I-71.

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
The changes along E. 5th Ave between High St. and the railroad tracks is pretty amazing. Love all these new developments sprouting up in the area. Hope the momentum continues in the area. There are still several commercial vacancies along Summit and 4th waiting to be filled to serve the new populace.

Columbus: Downtown: Lower.com Field / Astor Park
^Love the end product of the Municipal Light Plant and it seems like potential occupants do too as I believe it's 100% leased. While Astor Park won't see the commercial component start until December and the residential doesn't seem to have a start date, hopefully they'll be timed to where there will be a consistent buzz of construction activity at the site. Also looking forward to that garage being hidden somewhat by the additional buildings.

Columbus: Harrison West: Thurber Village Developments and News
Love Hilton 2.0 sticking out in that last shot. The Heritage Point addition is welcomed for sure, though I wish it would've been styled different rather than drawing from Goodale Landing. Both are not the most handsome of buildings. I do wonder if Westminster-Thurber has any plans for additional towers or replacement towers on their property. I believe there have been articles written stating this tower is already full and there is a waitlist for available units.

Columbus: Random Development and News
CMHOhio replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionBlank facades definitely are a theme in the Columbus skyline with AEP, Nationwide I, and Rhodes along with Miranova fitting the bill depending on the angle. Miranova wouldn't be so bad if the office building were a little taller and AEP would be masked had its twin been built. It would be nice if the city, government, and private entities that own these building come up with a plan to do something creative with these blank canvases. I recall there was something once proposed for AEP, but all that was done was the signage and lighting on the roof perimeter.

CMHOhio replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionBest case scenario they're going back to the drawing board again, worst case they're giving up on the development altogether?

Columbus: Near East Side / King-Lincoln / Olde Towne East Developments and News
CMHOhio replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThat would be incredible to get the large parking lot developed. It would really do wonders to further tying together that area of OTE. I hate to bring it up, but I don't see anything about parking in the submission. The building would have 51 units so I wonder if the plan is to keep some of the surface lot for the new structure?

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
CMHOhio replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionOh definitely. I think the thought is more so that NRI has had a tendency to just sit on parcels in the city core as of late and that they've stuck to one format for their buildings. By choosing a real estate developer other than NRI, we can get something built there quicker that's more unique. At least that's the hope.

Columbus: Fifth by Northwest (5xNW) Development and News
CMHOhio replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionWow, how many times have I passed that property wishing for its redevelopment. So glad it seems like it's going to happen! Can't wait to see some renderings.

Dublin: Bridge Park / Bridge Street District Developments and News
CMHOhio replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionGreat find! My initial impression is that it's like a much smaller Miranova - just replace the office building with a hotel. Not sure why CM and others in the CBF article are saying this is going to be so revolutionary for the region. Honestly I was hoping for one of these buildings to come in around 12-15 floors, but I can only imagine the uproar for a building of that potential height.

Columbus: Random Development and News
CMHOhio replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt seems like this is already in the transport side of things. Last year LCK was hopping with international freight activity from a myriad of international carriers. That's all but dried up recently, with only a few flights a week coming and going. While air transport only represents a fraction of freight logistics as most comes via train/ship/truck, I think it's a sign of where things are heading.

Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
Sounds shady, and not in the tree kinda way. So it sounds like we won't get a structure that will take up both lots in any meaningful kind of way. I do wonder if the Telhio building will be redeveloped as-is, or torn down to make way for a new building. Knowing our luck, it'll be a Sheetz, a Moo Moo, or an Advanced Auto Parts...

Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
The article doesn’t say who bought the Telhio property. Maybe that someone else is the also the buyer? The entire parcel would make an incredible location for a mixed use tower, for sure.

Dublin: Bridge Park / Bridge Street District Developments and News
CMHOhio replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think @smjjms is correct. The Instagram post indicates the project site being just beyond the existing AC Hotel which is visible. That would put the site across 161 on site M as indicated in the overhead view. The Indus project is site D, I believe.

Ohio: General Business & Economic News
Glad to hear that the official announcement does indeed put this plant in Ohio. Interesting choice on the new site, being almost equidistant to Columbus, Dayton, and the northeast fringe of Cincinnati. The article mentions the plant going near the junction of I-71 and US-35, putting it right around the Jeffersonville Outlet Mall. Should make the commute between Columbus and Cincinnati a bit more interesting!

Columbus: Westland Developments and News
CMHOhio replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThat's big news, great find! Since it will be attached to the casino, I guess that means it'll go on the vacant parcel to the northeast of the existing structure. I wonder what the brand affiliation will be?
