Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
^ I understand that RTA plans for X number per day and will pay X amount for fuel each day so it probably is inaccurate to say there was a "waste of fuel." I was just frustrated to see empty buses travelling down Euclid; it just strikes me as a poor use of resources. Also, empty buses feed the perception that this project was a waste of tax dollars.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
I saw on several occasions today buses running back to back. In one instance 3 buses were following each other down Euclid. I understand that it's the first week of service, but this is a total waste of fuel. The first bus would be filled up but the other one (or two) would be totally empty. It seems that RTA had plenty of time to work out timing issues so I don't understand why something so basic is a problem. On a more positive note...some friends of mine were downtown this weekend and commented that the Healthline gives Cleveland more of a "big city feel." I'm not entirely sure what they mean but it sounded positive!

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
I just heard an ad where RTA was explaing the healthline to Prospect Ave. I thought it was pretty funny and clever, especially when RTA asked Prospect to say hi to Mike the Hatter. It's good to hear RTA marketing the new healthline!

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Generally a pretty positive article about the downtown office market...Also some interesting news on Huntington Bank's plans Region's office market remains stable, Team NEO study finds Eaton Corp.'s potential departure from downtown Cleveland won't leave an irreparable hole in the city's market for office space, real estate brokers say. The city's office market remains strong after a few years of slow but steady growth. That's much the same story throughout Northeast Ohio, where roughly 88 percent of offices are filled, according to a report due out today from business-recruiting group Team NEO. Across 10 counties, the biggest occupancy boost has been in top-tier office space, the report found. This Class A space - the most modern and generally the priciest in the market - is nearly 90 percent occupied in downtown Cleveland, where plans are popping up for new buildings including the Ernst & Young tower near the east bank of the Flats. Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
^ I think this is part of the whole Caddillac Ranch development in the May Company building. If I recall, the space next to the Bang and Caltter will be Barroom Cleveland.

What's going on with Vivo? I thought that it would be closed only until the sidewalk was finished.

So I Need to move to Ohio,,,where should I go?? HELP PLEASE!!!!
I wouldn't suggest Ashland either,it's a really boring town. Also Ashland is a dry campus and the school enforces this rule very strictly.

Beachwood: New Eaton Headquarters
^^ Of course I would prefer them to be downtown, but staying within Cleveland would mean that the City could still collect the income taxes from Eaton.
-
Beachwood: New Eaton Headquarters
I'm not too familiar with Westpark but is there land by the airport along rocky river drive or grayton which could accommodate Eaton's desire for a campus? I would imagine that proximity to 71 and 480 would appeal to Eaton.

Cleveland: The Residences at 668 Euclid Avenue
^ I thought they were adding additional parking underneath the Atrium building.

Cleveland: The Residences at 668 Euclid Avenue
The building now has new "available sign which state... late summer 2009 completion date 236 apartments 600 parking spaces 65,000 square feet of retail This info was probably mentioned throughout the thread but I figured I would put it in one spot. Also I am kind of disappointed to see the building being marketed as "The Atrium at 668." I was hoping that the name would refer to the old Taylor department store in some way. The atrium at 668 doesn't really sound like an apartment building, I think of a bland suburban office when I hear it.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I took a walk around the Warehouse District today and saw that the Rockefeller Cafe will be opening on the corner of West 6th and Superior in the Rockefeller Building. It's nice to see one less empty storefront.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
This is a question/venting. Why does the storefront next to Bang and Clatter look like hell? At a minimum they could paint the plywood black. Does anyone know of plans for this space?

Cleveland - working and living downtown
I'll throw my building into the mix here...The Pointe at Gateway. It's located on Prospect by East 9th about 1 block north of The Q and Progrssive Field. However, I think the one bedrooms might be all leased out.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
^ That makes sense, I wasn't aware of the competition.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
I noticed today that the Playhouse Square store has closed. It's disappointing to see yet another empty storefront along Euclid especially since this was one of the few retailers. I'm surprised by this, I thought that Playhouse Square was attracting enough people to support a small souvenir store.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
^^ that would be correct.. In regards to something on topic, will the housing projects just north of the Riverview highrise have to be torn down due to erosion? I saw a report about this on the news the other night and they made it sound pretty serious. Then again it was the local news so it could be exaggerated.

Apparently Bob Golic's sports bar opens tomorrow... Bob Golic's Sports Bar & Grille to open in Warehouse District Friday, August 22, 2008 John PetkovicPlain Dealer Columnist Whoa, watch where you're stepping -- someone let the Dawgs out in the Warehouse District. Woof, woof, Bob Golic's Sports Bar & Grille will have a "soft opening" -- bar-restaurant jargon for exhibition game -- from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday. It opens officially Thursday with an opening bash coinciding with that night's Browns-Bears game. "The place is going to have a lot of jerseys, articles and pictures from the old days," says Golic, who played with the Browns from 1982 to 1988. More at cleveland.com http://www.cleveland.com

Panhandling/Scamming stories
I was coming out of St. John's on East 9th/ Superior one time and a well dressed woman came up to me and asked for change for a five. She claimed her car was broken into and she wanted to take the bus. She was black but she went on a tirade about how much she hates other blacks and how some n__ broke into her car. Since I was in a good mood I agreed but she then claimed to have asked for five dollars. I refused and walked away Exactly one week later, I'm walking out of St. Johns and she apporaches me with the same story. I tell her that she told me the exact same story last week. She got all nervous and bolted down the street! Also, I just saw the rebar man last week. Intrestingly he claimed to need money to get home while riding a bike.

^ Great News! In case you can't tell I'm a Gateway resident.

Cleveland: Homeless News & Discussion
^^ I think the City should remove the benches in the Northern quadrants of Public Square, they seem to attract the homeless. Obviously homeless people would still be on the Square but at least it cuts down on the homeless kind of camping out there.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
I was taking a peek into the May Co. windows the other day and a passerby told me a cadillac ranch restaurant was going in. I was pretty pumped at first because I didn't really know what it was ....I'm not so excited any more.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
Emphasize the number of daily living amenities we have downtown such as Constantino's, Reserve Square Market, several dry cleaners, barbershops/ hair salons etc. Whenever I tell someone I live downtown the first thing they ask is "where do you grocery shop?" People are genuinely surprised when I tell them there are 2 small markets downtown and 2 Dave Supermarkets nearby.

Cleveland: The Residences at 668 Euclid Avenue
^ I didn't know that building trades don't emphasize seniorty very much. To be honest I assumed all unions did. Interesting post. As for 668 Euclid, I noticed there is an armed guard outside the building. Are scrap thieves that big of a problem? This seems a little extreme.

Cleveland: The Residences at 668 Euclid Avenue
Union protestors were outside the Atrium garage today on Prospect. They had a giant inflated rat and some sign about K&D. I guess this will be a non-union project.
