  1. I was in the Rosetta/Old NCB Building today...according to the newsletter in the elevator the 9th floor apartments will be the first to be done in April 2013.
  2. I think it's WT Grant Lofts. There's a small alley which next to the building which I believe is East 2nd.
  3. ^ I think that place closed a few years ago. Also, the YMCA did a sale-leaseback with CSU a couple of years ago with a 5 year lease. The YMCA will have to move in the near future. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2009/09/cleveland_state_university_buy.html
  4. Sixth City Diner on West 9th in the former Waterstreet location has closed...it only lasted about 6 months.
  5. The article didn't give much detail, it said the new owner is exploring converting part of the building into about 100 apartments. Apparently they have a track record of converting properties they acquire into mixed use hotel-residential properties.
  6. Interesting news http://crainscleveland.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?Category=TOC New Arcade owner eyes apartments at Hyatt The quest by Skyline International Development of Toronto to make a go of the landmark Old Arcade in downtown Cleveland includes a possible switch to residential use of part of the building that houses the 293-room Hyatt Regency Cleveland.
  7. ^ The Moda space might be the new home of a kitchen/store for Mitchell's ice cream. Earlier in the thread there was some discussion about it. Nothing has been confirmed however.
  8. ^ Mitchell's Ice Cream had said they were exploring opening up a small production facility in Ohio City or Detroit Shoreway. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20110725/BLOGS02/110729904#
  9. You're probably right, those buildings are really cash cows. Also, maybe I'm reading too much into it but the article did say the "project" will close in September. Any chance K&D is the mystery buyer of the Key Bank Center? I think that sale also closes in September. Regardless of what the project and/or acquisition is it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
  10. It's vacant, 1010 Euclid is part of the Ameritrust complex and is owned by the county. I believe K&D's proposal for the complex included converting that building into apartments but I'm not sure.
  11. The PD business section today had a short article about K&D acquiring a building in Euclid. It also said K&D hopes to close on a 270 unit building downtown in September. I googled "270 unit building downtown cleveland" and Carter Manor was the first link to pop up. It's the Section 8 building on Propsect near East 9th. Hopefully K&D is acquiring the building and will make a market rate conversion. If I find a link I will post it.
  12. Some minor news for Euclid Ave., the Union Club acquired the parking lot between its building and the Sterling building. The plan is to remove the surface level to reveal the 70 or so spaces below street level then build an access ramp. Also they plan on doing some extensive landscaping. Long term, the club formed a committee to study potential development of the site. They might eventually build a garage or partner with a developer for a mixed use development.
  13. A couple of closures downtown to report...Caddyshack Lounge is gone. Also View nightclub closed too.
  14. ^ Key moved over to the Higbee Building.
  15. The PD reported in the Metro section that the timetable for opeing the Phase 1 casino will be annouced in the next 12 days. It also had a picture of some scaffolding being set up around the Higbee building. It's on page 2 of the metro section, I couldn't find it online. I don't remember a formal annoucement about a decision concerning a Phase I casino but I guess it's moving forward.

The FAQ on the wesite said they are working towards opening a storefront in downtown so maybe it's a permanent shop or maybe it's a temp store. Either way its great to hear about potential retail downtown.
  17. Some good news for downtown... Bober Markey Fedorovich Expands North to Downtown Cleveland Akron, Ohio (Oct. 7, 2010) – Bober Markey Fedorovich (BMF), a regional accounting and business advisory firm headquartered in Akron, Ohio, has expanded to Cuyahoga County with a new office located in the heart of downtown Cleveland, at 515 Euclid Avenue, adjacent to the popular East Fourth Street entertainment district. http://www.bobermarkey.com/breaking_news_and_alerts/cleveland_office_1010
  18. Can you elaborate at all?I know I'm being nosey but I'm curious because when I met one the owners he seemed to really have it together. Also, I spoke with their landlord who runs my condo association and he raved about how well organized the owners were.
  19. RJ Bolands on Prospect closed a few weeks ago. I'm kind of surprised because it seemed to always have a decent crowd. I guess the Indians pitiful attendence this year killed them.
  20. Forti's on Prospect has closed. No surprise there considering it had awful management. A new place called City Tap Cleveland is taking over the space.
  21. ^ the article itself didn't add too much, but it did say that construction is supposed to be begin this year. Obviously I wouldn't rely on that too much. Also it said something to the effect of they aren't searching for funds anymore but just putting all the financing together.
  22. I can't find the link but Crains reported a few weeks ago that the law firm of Calfee, Halter and Griswold was considering the building for their offices. They are currently in the Key Bank Building on Superior and E 9th.
  23. Great article on 668, only bad news is that K&D apparently decided to pass on redeveloping the May Co building and the East Ohio Gas Building Apartments' popularity bucks recent trend K&D's new apartment building in downtown Cleveland, Residences at Six Six Eight, has surprised even the real estate developer: All but three suites are leased and 62 people are on a waiting list for suites at the complex. http://crainscleveland.com/section/TOC
  24. Welcome to the forum! I just graduated from CM and I would also recommend Lakewood. It's a short commute and very safe. Cleveland Heights is safe but in my opinion Lakewood is safer. Also a lot more law students choose Lakewood so you'll be closer to your friends. In Lakewood I would checkout apartments along Clifton and Lake road. Some of friends from school lived there and really liked it.
  25. Looks like the work has started on this project. Also this is apparently a stimulus project...I didn't know that.
