Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
Found 10 faces and then stopped. I just wanted to be able to say I'm a "very observer".

rotoscope application for your pics
I found this a few years ago, it's kinda in the same vein as the rotoscaper. http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/ The rasterbator takes a picture and turns it into a very large version of what you might see if you looked very closely at a newspaper or magazine, lots of little dots. It outputs a PDF file with a large number of 8.5x11 pages that can be reconstructed into the final image for hanging on a wall. I used it for a bit of cheap dorm decor a few years back. Dunno how useful it is past that, but it's interesting none the less.

Die 800x600 die!
My display is 1680*1050. For my personal website I use a width of 1030 so that it fits nicely on a monitor that is 1280*1024. Lower resolution monitors need to go away.

The Dumb Joke/Funny Story Thread
So a truck driver ran out of gas while delivering an overpass on I-275... This is the place for dumb jokes, right?

- Can anyone guess where this photo was taken?
^The restrooms are clearly more than 100' away too. The whole sign is rubbish! ;-)- Can anyone guess where this photo was taken?
Can no one else actually read all the signs? Moscow - 5476 London - 4367 Canfield, OH - 464 Rest Rooms - 100 (no ', but assumed.) Memphis - 88 Tokyo - 6695 Lounge - 100' Berlin - 4850 Refreshments - 100'- Can anyone guess where this photo was taken?
It clearly says Canfield, OH on the sign.- Can anyone guess where this photo was taken?
From the sign, we know that this Memphis has to be within 464+88=552 and 464-88=376 miles from Canfield, OH. From Wikipedia, we know that there are a few towns by the name Memphis. Memphis, TN = 763 miles. Memphis, AL = 867 miles. Memphis, FL = 1,112 miles. Memphis, IN = 396 miles. Memphis, MI = 276 miles. Memphis, MS = 779 miles. Memphis, MO = 701 miles. Memphis, NE = 887 miles. Memphis, NY = 326 miles. Memphis, TX = 1,301 miles. My guess is Rough River State Park Airport in Kentucky. This location is 110 miles from Memphis, but it is not a very direct route so 88 miles as the crow flies is certainly possible. This location is also 471 miles to Canfield, OH, very close to the 464 miles posted on the sign. The only problem I see with this, is that the signs point the wrong direction for this. The town should be 88 miles south east of Memphis, and this town is south west. But it's the only way to get it to mesh properly with the distance from Canfield, OH. Edit: After cheating a little bit.... The Picasa info says its Tupelo, MS. This is certainly 88 miles from Memphis, but almost 800 miles from Canfield. Something's wrong...- Cincinnati Cyclones Discussion
I didn't talk to a door person, I talked to their manager. Put my name on a list (there were already a few others on there) and walked in the door. Calling the Cyclones office ahead of time was definitely a help too; I already knew I could get in the door with it, and they couldn't convince me otherwise. Next time just ask to talk to their manager and mention that you talked to the office before hand. Also, I came to the game in my work clothes, might have made a difference. I don't know.- Cincinnati Cyclones Discussion
I called the Cyclones office about a month ago asking if they allowed dSLRs into the games. The answer that I got from the office was that the Cyclones don't care about the cameras, it's the event staff that care. (The event staff are employees of the arena and not the Cyclones.) So I brought mine with me on Friday's game and of course the event staff had a problem with it, but after talking to them for about 30 seconds I was allowed to bring it in to the game. They will ask you to put your name down on a list of people who are bringing a dSLR into the game, but for future reference they don't even check to make sure you game them legit information. No big deal.- Off Topic
For those of you who wish to add chest hair by reading a news article, read this. http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/magazine/16-03/ff_seacowboys?currentPage=all Seriously manly. In all seriousness, it's a very good article about rescuing a capsized ship. Very good read.- Worst album covers of all time ...

^I'm not sure that the Brooks Brothers store in Jeffersonville is actually an outlet store. Their prices were no different than the store downtown when I was up there over the summer. The only difference is the Jeffersonville store has a lot more space and seemed to carry a lot more sizes. Not worth the trip unless you are planning on going to some of the other stores up there.- Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"

That's pretty darn awesome. If that is where I think it is, then I used to walk by there all the time for lunch (Cincinnati Bell building to Skyline in the Macy's building.) I'm glad to see that they finally did something with those windows. Congrats.- Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"

They should all be operational again now. Turns out it wasn't the hard drives that were the problem, it was the RAID controller. Problem should be fixed now.- Hydrobond in 2007
