^It looks like a high ISO and/or a high contrast filter in a photo editor, but not a broken camera. I agree with montecarloss, the subjects are good. Night shots are extremely tough without a tripod; even with an extremely steady hand, the shots will come out blurry. I did enjoy the set though, as I was out of town and could only see the city though ESPN's eyes.- A Weekend Fling with Cincinnati
This kid looks like he's flashing gang signs.- OT- what cameras do you guys use.
Canon Digital Rebel XTi and Canon 28-135 IS USM lens. I like it a lot.- A Little Bit of Riverfest
Thanks for the compliments guys. oakiehigh - Sad to hear that they will not be running the buses from Western Hills Plaza any more, it made the transportation to and from the fireworks extremely convenient. rob_1412 - The park and ride buses charge $5 for a round trip, which gets you a slip (not sure if it is the standard transfer slip) for the return trip. Because everyone has a slip, the whole bus can load in under a minute, but getting the bus out of the transit center can take a while. I know it looked like a total mess of people, but I only waited about 10 minutes for a bus, so the system worked pretty well. A few more park and ride locations would have been nice though.- A Little Bit of Riverfest
^Did you take a normal bus route or a park and ride bus route? I took the park and ride bus last year (from Western Hills Plaza) and the bus dropped us off and picked us up from the Riverfront Transit Center. Same with the year before that. This year, I took the GE bus as the Western Hills Plaza park and ride was shut down (no clue why) and the bus driver dropped us off right at the entrance to Riverfest. Obviously, the bus picked us up at the Riverfront Transit Center this year too.- A Little Bit of Riverfest
I made the mistake of taking the 28-138 lens instead of the 18-55 lens, because of this the fireworks tended to take up more than the frame. Here's what I walked away with. The Purple People Bridge The crowd gathering across the river in Newport, KY. large A large ad for some drink I will prolly never try. Mt. Adams from Riverfest Covington, KY from Riverfest Some of the Riverfest crowd. Newport on the Levee We were given headphones for the occasion. (VIP seats rock :-)) Not everyone had a good day. A fireboat showing off for the crowd. The crowd about 10 minutes before the fireworks show. (Some people sit very still...) The barge is in position. (About 5 minutes before the fireworks show.) Newport and Crowd Then the fireworks began. The walk home, with 500,000 other people. A random skyscraper shot on the walk to the bus. The line for the bus.- Previously unnoticed painting on Walnut - Cincy
I saw it from the sidewalk on sixth street last summer. Here is the picture I took from the sidewalk:- Power internet, 3000 kbps up 3000 kbps down.
I've had it for a few months now. I've not had a single problem with it, and the upload speed has been wonderful (since I use my home connection to host my website.) The company is still rather small, and when I called tech support to have them open the HTTP port for me I was actually talking to a network engineer, not some guy in India. I highly recommend switching to current if anyone is thinking about it. The switch to Duke Energy kinda killed it, you gotta keep checking the Current Broadband wepage to see if your area has the service yet. The only down side is I can't seem to get the 3mbps upload speed they promise. I'm sure the problem lies with Apache, as I can actually get a combined 3mbps when I download two files from my server. I can only get about 2mbps when I download one file from my server. As I said, I'm sure the problem is on my end, I just can't figure out where the problem is or how o fix it.- Cincinnati: Large Panorama Teasers of Breathtaking Skyline from 7/21/07
That yacht is overkill for the Ohio river. Very nice pictures of Cincy and the Ohio. RiverViewer: Wouldn't a shallow Ohio be blue rather than brown because of the lack of rain bringing dirt down into the river?- Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
Finding a park and ride style lot would have been more of a hassle than paying for parking. I went up with three other friends, so once you take into account the combined price of mass transit for the four of us, parking may have actually been cheaper, at least for the level of convenience a car provides.- Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
Thanks for the comments, guys. I was only in Chicago for a couple of hours, and some of that time was spent at Giordano's for some very excellent Chicago pizza. Parking is way too expensive in that town.- Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
I really like it. It stands out, which is something hard to do in Chicago.- Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
The topic of Chicago was breached. A picture of CNA Plaza I took last weekend. More Pictures Here.- Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
