  1. Was just out at the Airport around 1:30p yesterday and saw 2 or 3 rigs drilling in the area where the new terminal is supposed to be. Should serve as a good sign that things continue to progress.
  2. I am good with the Critical Care Pavilion. The MOB/Garage on the other hand… Yikes. This needs work and a ton of critique from the DTC. As mentioned by @NW24HX, why not stack the MOB on top of the garage? There should not be such a short building on a true urban medical campus. It looks like a suburb build out more suitable for OhioHealth Dublin. Sadly, I believe they will blindly approve.
  3. Yes! We need lighting requirements established for downtown buildings IMO. Wishful thinking but that flair goes a long way.
  4. Love that they are utilizing the full parcel. Unfortunate curb cut along 5th - in my opinion, all ingress/egress should be handled via the alley. Thank you for sharing the site plan. Looking forward to renderings. EDIT: Project Site - https://www.efflercos.com/project-1350
  5. Is the proposal to cross at street level? one would think that they would tunnel under the road as they have in other parts of the trail. Not sure if that level of detail was included in the initial proposal.
  6. Looks like 1350 W 5th is on its way out - a mixed use building of 6 stories set to replace it. The current structure is quite an eyesore so this will be a welcome addition along 5th.
  7. The 5xNW Community Liaison is Beth Fairman-Kinney <[email protected]>. Send a kind email outlining your opposition to the development and ask that she share with the commission.
  8. The city really needs to expedite any plans of a pedestrian bridge from north bank/arena district to the peninsula.
  9. She was until very recently. Likely realized she could lease the space at a rate that would allow her to make money and relocate the catering operation to a new location that is not as prominent.
  10. Work has begun at the former sweet carrot location - it will become the newest location for Hot Chicken Takeover.
  11. I actually felt the opposite - centering the sign would drive me crazy. Normally i like center but I actually like that it will be right-aligned in that location. :)
  12. Couldnt grab a photo but I noticed in passing that some site prep has begun at the corner lot across from wright patt CU on third in Grandview. I don't remember seeing any updates from NRI or grandview but will likely see something soon.
  13. A long, slow build out just got even longer. Hope the damage isn't too bad or it may be another year before we see people moving in.
  14. I want to see side by side completion photos of the original and the new to see what (if anything) they did differently the second time around.
  15. Now imagine additional developments of various heights lining both sides of broad street…
  16. OBM Always seems to do good work. Seems ironic that this would be allowed when the Cap development had to remain a blank wall on both sides to avoid driver distractions. Times have changed lol
  17. Remember when the parking garage was supposed to be "finished" with a collection of advertisement boards? Over a year later and the 670-facing facade remains blank concrete.
  18. Yes, This is beyond necessary. Something needs to change - wider sidewalks and extended corners for easier crossing. The city has been adding islands to most crosswalks and the one by Beck is in need.
  19. Its nothing fancy but I do like it when garages are built with simple windows on a facade that resembles a building. The North Bank Park Condos have this facing Neil and its a great way to disguise a garage without it needing to be art or video boards.
  20. Love to see progress. Hopefully this phase will see the completion of the garage facade facing 670. Once touted to be covered with some sort of advertisement (not my ideal facade cover) this garage has been allowed to sit unfinished since its completion. Very disappointed in the city for not enforcing what was approved.
  21. Agreed on underwhelming. I think this speaks to the rapid development in East Franklinton. Even though its not an old build, when Casto committed to R&R, they were very much going out on a limb with their investment (considering the neighborhoods infancy) and built a cheaper product.
  22. A few thoughts: 1. Why does one tenant have so much control of a new development? CVS should not have this much say in the project. They do not need a one story build and they certainly do not need a drive thru in this part of town. That should be a non-negotiable factor. This will be heavily trafficked by people on foot. 2. The other commercial building is also prime for additional height. 3. Update the retail renderings prior to the neighborhood meeting.
