  1. Why can't we have nice things? I hope that this is part of punch list tasks but i have a feeling it is the result of vandals Also, I was walking on that stretch of sidewalk on Friday and was completely disappointed with how beat up/dirty it looked.. They need to do some serious clean up while they continue to work towards project completion. Also not too pleased with the co go bike share being placed on the side walk as opposed to along bollinger or within a dedicated zone on the road. Its a bit narrow.
  2. I walk or bike past this site daily on my commute -- That fencing they put up is no joke. Polar opposite of temporary. Looks to be bolted into the concrete with multiple signs warning against trespassing. Seems legit that it is to curb the misuse as opposed to prepping for a sale based on the fencing alone. I agree that it is a shame -- beautiful little nook of downtown with mature trees. Sad to see it so uninviting now.
  3. It is the new Data Center on the top two floors. The floors below will host a new conference center.
  4. Truly and engineering and architectural marvel.
  5. I'll never understand how developers get away with clearly obvious changes such as these. The old bait and switch.
  6. Equipment arriving at the gravity 2.0 site within the past week. Should see dirt moving soon.
  7. The family dollar lot is being leased as staging for the Corso project at the former Yoga On High parcel. Once that is complete, I am sure it wont be long until the family dollar store is redeveloped. That being said, I am hoping the parking lot owner also owns the Check Cashing building and chooses to end that lease as well. Fingers crossed!
  8. I'm really unsure of the correct terminology with this but.. The downtown development "rule book" (guideline? standards?) should require exterior lighting on all new builds. 80 on the commons is a great example of a new build with a prominent location that could benefit from basic uplighting of some sort. It would really pop when you are at the commons past dusk. Apologies -- getting off topic here. I digress.
  9. Its a real shame. Even the prominent slab of concrete that is the Miranova building has basic uplighting; however, it shuts off by 10pm. The skyline essentially goes dark after 10pm outside of Nationwide building 2 and Leveque. The main street bridge has uplighting on the arch cables but half are burnt out or outdated halogen bulbs.
  10. I am hoping for this, too. Something needs to be done to increase the visual appeal of the downtown buildings. Its shocking to me that so many are dark. Something as simple as LED lights outlining the shape would go a long way.
  11. I think it should have been fully capped to filter the noise from below. Once capped, I believe a beer garden or goodale Park "annex" with grass and the ability to host events would be great. Edit: if you have ever been to Dallas -- think of the cap they have in place separating uptown from downtown
  12. My only wish is that the top section used more glass than the lower section as a way to create a really distinct look but overall i am pleased that it is going to get built above 25 stories. Your move, M Tower.
  13. Im excited to see what the final product looks like at night -- uplighting on the front should really help make this look top notch.
  14. My god -- it looks warped already. Really, though... wont the commission review this work and ask for changes to be made in the areas that they see as problem areas. This finish is awful. How does someone get held accountable?
  15. Very true. Cincinnati is still a bit of a nightmare with the West End folks from what I hear. And Nashville will be playing at their fairgrounds (sound familiar)?
  16. So where do we all sign up to be developers because these are all solid thoughts/ideas that would surely be a hit. 20+ stories here (including a pretty large garage on the lower levels) with office space would be a hit.
  17. Not to mention Franklinton (Peninsula Area) just across the river and all of the development set to go online. It would be a hit for sure.
  18. Great looking building. Happy to see more up-lighting -- not enough buildings are taking into consideration the increase in curb appeal that a small investment in up-lighting brings. The Del-Mar building looks amazing at night.
  19. If Millennial Tower would ever come to fruition -- one of their initial tenant ideas was a grocery.. Would love to see a whole foods pop in there (and hopefully get naming rights to the building) but all of that is purely speculative at this point. Heres to hoping
  20. The arbor was so poorly constructed. Not sure how that made it to fruition with that awful design.
  21. Really impressed with how the window set along high street mimics the facade of the convention center. And I'm simply blown away by the progress this has made from the first iterations.
  22. Any idea why the sidewalk on the east side of high at the buttles intersection (across the alley from the graduate hotel site) and near Mikes Bar has yet to be completed? Where the curb pops out has been done but up close to the building it is still rough concrete of old.
  23. Indoor demo -- no exterior walls being removed. The lower level bar looks to be almost completely disassembled. I agree, it is such a cool two story space with rooftop patio. I think another brewery/restaurant is destined for the spot due to the set up. I thought maybe Watershed could bring their restaurant there and be successful.. I am sure the rent is crazy which leads me to believe the Donatos/black brick concept wont be around much longer. I never actually see the place buzzing. Zest may be the only spot to survive.
  24. Has there been any word on a tenant for the old RAM Restaurant? I have noticed in passing that some demo work has been occurring on the lower level bar. the only other assumption i had was that they sold some of the brewing equipment and required some demo to get it removed.
