  1. To add to this. If all goes as planned the Scranton Peninsula will essentially be connected to one of the nicest parks in Ohio if not the Midwest once Irishtown bend is complete.
  2. Glad to see Samsel progressing as well as the restaurant across the street. Wasn't sure what the status of the restaurant was with all the George family litigation going on. https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/apartment-conversion-samsel-supply-building-cleveland-flats-gains-steam "The conversion of the five-floor Samsel Supply Co. store and warehouse building at 1235 Old River Road in Cleveland’s Flats into 100 apartments has gained state aid while another real estate company, RHM Real Estate Group of Lyndhurst, has joined the development team." "George said his efforts on Old River are focused on two buildings across the street from Samsel’s. Those will become the Riverview Garden he unveiled last spring which will demolish one building and crack open another to maximize Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie views. Some of the state brownfield grant may aid that project, according to the news release announcing it from Gov. Mike DeWine and the Department of Development."
  3. Hasn't the State also basically said they cant do much either?

Shockingly though the browns have a valuation in the middle of the pack far from last unlike the Blue jackets
  5. Whiskey Bar Opening New Location https://www.clevescene.com/food-drink/whiskey-bar-opening-new-downtown-location-in-gateway-district-45533309
  6. The parking lot was closed today and there were a bunch of bobcats doing work on it. Could have just been normal maintenance though.
  7. Obviously I would take any of the options in a heartbeat but if we can be picky I'm not sure how much use there would be for it to go all the way out to Lakewood. But I always thought having one that looped over to 65th and back down Lorain would be heavily used.
  8. But have you had the sandwiches from Ohio City Gas? they are delightful and Sheets could never
  9. Shots fired into a business in Lakewood https://www.cleveland19.com/2024/11/16/lakewood-business-hit-by-gunfire-bullet-narrowly-misses-owner/
  10. https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/plan-old-lakewood-hospital-site-faces-final-hurdles Wait did I read this right.....is this development really down to less than 200 units, 1 retail space and 600 parking spaces? I thought it was at least 300 which even then for the space is not a lot.
  11. I wasn't aware I lived so close to an active warzone. I guess I should watch more news. All of the families moving in and parents I see walking around with their kids all the time also must not be aware either.
  12. I could see a lot of people tailgating right across the bridge at the West 25th bars too
  13. Dont forget about the multipurpose professional soccer stadium proposed to go downtown
  14. Halslams have only committed $1.2B from what I have read. They are then asking for $1.2B from the public for the stadium and another $1.2B from some other private source other than themselves for the surrounding development that may or may not happen. Of which they have $0 in public committed from anyone at the moment except Cleveland which I am sure is now off the table.
  15. Cant wait for all the people flying in for this supposed Superbowl to realize they are going to have to fly in, rent a car/uber to drive past the stadium to downtown because that's where all the hotels are, to then have to drive back to the stadium for the game and then back downtown for any nightlife/food scene and their hotel. Sounds like a wonderful fan experience...
  16. The City of Lakewood always amazes me at how easily they get in their own way....No grocery store and 600 parking spaces later here we are. Also in terms of a small format grocer, I have no insight but the former right aid on 65th seems like a prime spot. I think its around 15k square feet
  17. I don't really think these things cause many people to say now I'm not going to Cleveland. I think its probably more people saying that's why I never go to Cleveland from people who don't come anyway. These things seem to happen in waves. A bunch of car break-ins happen, it gets media attention which gets the police more involved, the police catch them and it goes quite for a while, repeat. It's also not just Cleveland. Crocker has had break ins, Lakewood continues to have car break ins, Willoughby has been having issues, I even heard about some in North ridgeville last month in a brand new developement. It's unfortunate but I feel like it's talked about on and off every year.
  18. I saw the police addressed the street takeovers in the media which is a step in the right direction. From the below article it doesn't even sound like these are being organized locally. Someone from Cincinnati organized the one over the weekend. https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/local/cleveland/cleveland-police-overnight-street-takeovers-large-police-response/95-9bb2d35e-ad6d-4991-a442-53dde00d2b06
  19. Anyone have any insight into what is pending on the inner right side retail space next to Edda?
  20. Last thing I saw was they were tabled at Ohio City Design review a few weeks ago due to the concerns over the South facing side of the buildings design.
  21. Does "provide enough developable land" essentially mean making sure utilities, infrastructure etc are in place on the land GLBC owns on Scranton Peninsula?
  22. In their original plan the industrial complex was going on the much larger plot they bought across the road farthest from the river and the brewpub was going on the smaller plot on the river. If Greats Lakes goes with the riverfront brewpub complex they originally had in mind I see it being a destination for people from all over to come to and not just locally but tourists visiting as well. It might have some of the same customers but I feel they will be able to serve significantly more customers at a new complex than they can at their Ohio City location currently. They could always have specialty OHC pub specific beers at that location or something like that to draw people as well.
  23. Sounds like Great Lakes moving to Avon is off the table and layouts for a new facility on the Scranton Peninsula are being worked. https://www.crainscleveland.com/manufacturing/great-lakes-brewing-co-ceos-plan-growth-shrinking-market "Earlier this year, it was reported that the company was considering planting a new production facility and taproom on a 17.5-acre parcel in Avon. However, that is now off the table." "The company has been managing through its management transition over the last quarter. At the same time, it has been refining layouts of a potential new facility on the Scranton Peninsula, the land for which was purchased in the Spring of 2018," said the Conways in an emailed statement. "The Company received a Brownfield Remediation Program Grant in 2022 and is working to complete its infrastructure elements in cooperation with its residential development neighbors Silver Hills and NRP." "In the meantime, Pauwels emphasized that “we have operations here that are not going anywhere,” adding that the company is planning to invest around $1 million next year to enhance existing brewing operations."
  24. I want to be excited about this because affordable housing is always important. But it just feels like at this particular location there would be more demand for market rate than affordable. This is also a very important location in connecting the low West 40s to the 50s. Right now this is kind of a dead zone between two pockets of businesses and there's enough space here to plant a ton of people with disposable income to really get Lorain going even more.
  25. Another space has been leased at Intro by something called Green Salad Co. I think there is only one available retail space left now.
