I recall a NeoTrans article too that discussed MLB’s desire to have more activity near their stadium sites. Plenty of pavement near Thirsty Parrot and 9th and Carnegie to see something go vertical. Besides the 54 story version of nuCLEus, I wonder just how many developers are seeking TMUD credits. It’s going to be fun to see late June what projects receive them.

I’m hopeful Metabolon has a similar announcement or at minimum opens an office here given their newly formed collaboration with Cleveland Clinic.

North Park Place townhomes are now above ground. It looked as if maybe 3 or 4 units were completely framed to the third level. Wasn’t able to get a pic today though.

I like the Bedrock site because I think there can be a synergy between the Justice Center and the Federal Court Tower, but I like the prospect of Rocket having offices there even more. Is the Pit in play? Not sure if it’s owned by the City or a private entity, but seems like a mid rise tower could be built there with easy transit access.

Pretty standard article for Crain’s, I think. Given the nature of their business I think it’s pretty exciting they chose CLE over SF to be their home.

That’s very sharp, the TMUD credits are going to be uber competitive among the 3 Cs.

I’m very impressed by what I’ve seen from those behind this development. It’s got to be frustrating dealing with the opinions of a stubborn, myopic landmarks commission. The amount of red tape there seems to be to develop dynamic projects in Cleveland is ridiculous. They’re definitely doing a good job with the crap guidelines that’s been dumped on them.

I could be wrong, but maybe we just aren’t seeing the forest through the trees. We’ve heard about spinoff development as a result of Sherwin-Williams choosing public square as their future address. I think it’s more realistic to ask that spin off activate the street than it is an office building. I’ve yet to spend a night at the FEB and think man, the EY tower really needs to open their lobby to the public. I’m going to reserve judgment until at least a few years after the completion of this project.

If it’s at all interactive and allows passerbys to peer into a live radio broadcast I think it could be pretty cool. What would be even cooler is if ESPN Cleveland brought their sponsor Union Home Mortgage to the Flats with them 😎

Went past the University Hotel & Suites (3614 Euclid) today and it was posted on their sign they were closed for renovations. I hope whatever the renovations are they’re drastic.

The economic impact of this District should have a ripple effect that positively changes quality of life for all Clevelanders, and that is hands down the biggest win here. The growing of our skyline is of course very exciting too. I found this very interesting in Michelle’s article and am looking forward to what’s shared during today’s 2pm conference. “JobsOhio committed to investing up to $100 million in the Cincinnati project, pairing that money with investments by the anchor institutions. The partners aim to spur the creation of 20,000 jobs and $3 billion in annual economic impact, including $2 billion worth of research and real estate development over a decade.”
