  1. Who doesn’t love these guys ?.. Hard to see anything done about them when we have a mayor who likens them to street performers.
  2. Gushing for Cleveland piece from our friends in Florida. J magazine: Cleveland offers lessons for turning around a downtown Mike Clark - Florida Times-Union https://www.jacksonville.com/story/opinion/columns/2020/08/07/reason-front/3322274001/
  3. I wonder if CrossCountry Mortgage will only consider moving their HQ to Superior If they have the $5 million tax credit in hand.
  4. Well I suppose any news is good news here. I’m still hopeful for the job creation and job relocation to this region that City Block might attract. “(Bernie Moreno is) also a partner in City Block, a planned center for startup and young businesses at the Avenue at Tower City Center. Bedrock Detroit LLC , the development arm of Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, will be the developer of the center. Moreno said in the phone call that Bedrock continues to work on the development.” https://www.crainscleveland.com/transportation/bernie-moreno-gets-back-auto-business
  5. These will have a nice waterfront presence. Is it known what restaurants or shops will be occupying the new buildings?
  6. Love the idea of an office component. I also love me some glassy towers, but this feels like a bit too much glass. Hopefully this will evolve a little, but good start all things considered.
  7. That would be a short walk to Bakersfield ?.. Consider me interested
  8. Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but there’s this.. retweeted by Michelle Jarboe. Does anyone recall the last time these lots were repaved? Did it require 3 weeks, fencing and a backhoe?
  9. Yeah I started seeing that after posting. Now I’m as excited for this as I am for Rascal Flatts restaurant on the East Bank.
  10. Floating cinema with social distancing boats coming to Cleveland in September https://www.news5cleveland.com/entertainment/floating-cinema-with-social-distancing-boats-coming-to-cleveland-in-september?fbclid=IwAR0ijBo6xoXqGYuFcWJHydVBt1E_qYXMKbd5nZ-1hPiL50iBOhpmVVhO7bc
  11. Sounds like a nice little “nucleus” of cranes we’ll see in the OC/Downtown area ?
  12. Does anyone here have a Cleveland Biz Journal subscription? Can you recommend? I already have a Crain’s subscription and am wondering if the content is different enough to make another subscription worthwhile.
  13. Do I sense an article coming? Minus the *BOOM*
  14. At least a playground wouldn’t be a permanent thing. A residential high rise always felt to me like the best use of Mall C, even at the expense of my ultimate frisbee games.
  15. Good job by the folks in this rendering for maintaining 6 feet of distance ?
  16. LOL. I’ll never look at the inconspicuous area in a render the same.

  18. ^^^Battery Park has done a great job of blending Cleveland’s industrial past with her bright future, IMO. I love the skyline of Lakewood’s Gold Coast and wouldn’t mind seeing similar density overlooking Edgewater.
  19. Thanks.. good for them on retiring but always sad to see a staple gone forever.
  20. Hot Dog Inn is setting up in a new home, correct? Anyone know the address? Sorry if this has been answered up thread.
  21. Not sure this is the best thread for this but the thread I thought to be most appropriate is locked. Cleveland featured in this WSJ article. Cleveland Is a House-Flipping Hot Spot, and Covid Is Helping Real-estate investors are moving away from the Sunbelt to lower-price markets inland, scooping up homes to turn into rentals https://www.wsj.com/articles/cleveland-is-a-house-flipping-hot-spot-and-covid-is-helping-11591629995 my favorite take from the article.. “Even in many places where home prices are low, like Cleveland, a mix of factors has propped up rents, including employment patterns and the state of the local housing stock.”
  22. We had dinner at Lindsay’s Lake House and there was a very good crowd there for a Thursday night, although it was beautiful out. I honestly don’t know if Margaritaville or Collision Bend were open but they didn’t appear to be. There was a decent amount of pedestrians but probably down a bit with the current events and not every bar and restaurant being opened as a factor. I’ve yet to get down there on a weekend to see how business is but hope to soon.
