If CityBlock is going forward as indicated by Bernie Moreno there are undoubtedly deep pockets involved. This wouldn’t be built in the hopes that if you build it they will come.

I feel like retaining a growing Fortune 200 company is the easy answer.. so the thing I’m most thankful for in Cleveland is Bernie Moreno and the other like minded entrepreneurs who’re contributing to the #4 fastest growing tech labor pool in the U.S.

One does not simply make a trip to MetroHealth without snapping some construction progress pics.

St. Luke’s is now a senior community of apartments, and I believe a few offices and a school. It’s a beautiful building that I was happy they salvaged, rehabbed and repurposed. Would of been a shame to lose it altogether, I could be wrong but believe it was at a time slated for demolition. Side note it reminds me of Professor Xavier’s School for the Gifted. Full disclosure, I’m a bit of a comic nerd.

My thought is the jokes of Cleveland having a crime problem arise when a 60-story Justice Center is necessary. Realistically though, the appearance of the building will have no tangible effect on the administration of justice for the victims of crime and those awaiting their fate. I just hope for something beautiful and transformational without excessive frill at the expense of the taxpayer.

Hard pass. The nauseating Darcy cartoons, in a city where the tallest skyscraper is the Justice Center, are enough reason to not build that tall.
