  1. I don’t know why it would.. maybe both could be salvaged. I guess I’m proposing that based solely on personal preference. C feels like any major city airport to me. Having said that I don’t care a whole lot for United.
  2. I would think even with a new terminal they would look to retain concourse C, no?
  3. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/these-are-the-cities-with-the-highest-and-lowest-wage-growth-according-to-pay-scale-105250957.html Good to see wages going up in the Cleveland metro and planting our flag near the top mixed in with tech meccas.
  4. Don’t hate on Amish ingenuity. Don’t know if they can build a high rise but my rocking chair gets an A+
  5. Wow! Sure is going up quick.. I see the crane but haven’t seen the street level impact in a few months, since my last night of Ohio City shenanigans ?
  6. @KJP I like these posts better ?
  7. My feeling is if someone moves from a high rise in University Circle to Beachwood, a dense, walkable urban neighborhood isn’t their cup of tea. The only suburbs I can think that can replicate the urban living of Cleveland neighborhoods are Lakewood, Rocky River and Cleveland Heights. I will concede that UC is a little different than those areas, as well as Ohio City, Tremont, DS and Little Italy for that matter. But I don’t think this one example illustrates a glaring problem.
  8. I thought the same & posted it in the official I love Cleveland thread. In fact there’s a whole lot of drawings of high rise developments ?
  9. I normally view these DCA videos as something between advertisement and fluff pieces. However, this video is particularly interesting given the anticipated developments coming over the next decade. At the end of the video do I view downtown Cleveland with a penciled in nuCLEus, City Club Apartments, RealLife Tower and the big tamale.. the Sherwin-Williams HQ? Maybe or maybe not.. another well done video by DCA nonetheless.
  10. It’s a little different than what we’re used to seeing. It’s certainly an improvement over just a parking garage.
  11. These renderings aren’t too bad.. a little surprised though there’s no apparent utilization of roof space.
  12. Cleveland Clinic is the largest employer in the city but your point remains the same. It’s at times embarrassing who we as Clevelanders have representing us in government. Not all government officials, but many, and just incredible ineptitude at the highest levels.
  13. WKYC oughta put you on their payroll at this point.
  14. This is great news. And for my official wish list I’m hoping for a hotel component. Something unique similar to what was proposed in the 54 story version of nuCLEus.
  15. Well.. at least this time it took more than a full day for this thread to go off the rails.
  16. Referenced all of that as well as our amazing restaurants and breweries when on a recent trip my Alamo rent-a-car rep said “never been to Cleveland but have heard great things. Sell me on visiting.” Don’t know if he’ll visit or not but national perception has changed a lot over the last decade. (Trip was to LA)
  17. Understandable and that’s your right. Once the site is selected how long potentially until a developer is identified? Also, once the site is selected do you anticipate it being public knowledge or remaining close to the vest for awhile?
  18. There are similarly narrow stretches on the sidewalk of Kalākaua Ave. in Honolulu, one of the most heavily pedestrianized sidewalks in the country. I’m not saying the narrow sidewalk is ideal, but don’t think it’s a huge problem and certainly not one that’s unique to Cleveland.
  19. Wrong thread, but nice angle of The Lumen.
  20. Wow.. love it! I really hope this fills up fast compelling Playhouse Square Foundation to commence it’s second act ? (you see what I did there).
  21. That’s a hard thing to project. I think there are Cleveland start up companies with real potential for immense growth, but time will tell.
  22. Are you referencing the proposed park and trail overlooking the Cuyahoga that borders Ontario to the west? Would love to see that built as it was proposed as it would compliment any type of development like this very nicely. Apologies I’m unable to find the image of it at this time.
  23. The Google component of City Block.
  24. I hope this is shot down with a resounding no. It’s very frustrating the amount of money Dan Gilbert makes in Cleveland and takes to Detroit to build things like Hudson’s Site and Monroe Block. All the while we’re given things like this and a promised, never delivered Casino Phase II. Dan Gilbert has done some great things for us like going into the luxury tax to help deliver the city a much needed championship and bringing hundreds of Quicken Loans jobs to downtown.. but stuff like this.. come onnn maaannnn.
