  1. Gilbert’s wealth moves like my crypto investments.
  2. Michelle’s article on Crain’s touches on it a bit. https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/sherwin-williams-reveals-final-hq-designs-including-lighting-branding “That change maintains the capacity of the garage while leaving Sherwin-Williams room to add a bay — if there's a need for additional parking. Perhaps more importantly, though, the reduced footprint leaves more of the surrounding block open for other types of development, from housing or a boutique hotel to offices, restaurants or even national retailers. Sherwin-Williams has earmarked the L-shaped perimeter of the block, along St. Clair and West Sixth Street, for such complementary projects. Creating a deeper site along St. Clair gives the eventual developer, or developers, more flexibility, said Tim Muckley, director of corporate real estate, during a meeting this week at the company's historic office complex downtown.”
  3. Thought maybe this was Terdolph, but think his gripe would of been that the new SHW HQ will block views of the Frank Lausche building.
  4. I don’t know that Bibb would make a bad mayor, but I’m in agreement that some of his ideas are pie in the sky. The fact that he supports 24, which is a violation of the CBA the city has with it’s employees, makes me wonder just how short sighted he is politically. And I don’t have a crystal ball, but would predict a contentious working relationship between himself and council if he’s elected.
  5. I’ve long heard about the prospective development of the Lutheran Hospital lots, is the benefactor here the Clinic? It seems they as well as the MetroHealth System are expanding beyond the hospital walls to build healthy neighborhoods (e.g. La Villa Hispana & Fairfax Meijer development).
  6. The design is similar to 121 Larchmere which I like. The texture IMHO is sleeker, it’s more dense and has an extremely important first level retail element. I can nitpick subtle things but overall view this as a home run .
  7. Ground has been broken on West Park Animal Hospital’s expansion.
  8. I’m ok with extending the sales tax to pay for a new JC but can’t figure how, if any due diligence is done, there isn’t a “definite” timeframe for the expansion of the tax.
  9. ^this loss hurts, no doubt. However, I don’t think I’m looking through scarlet and gray glasses when I say this type of experience can be good for a young Buckeyes team in the long run. A lot of opportunities to get right before the difficult stretch of the Big Ten schedule begins at Indiana on 10/23.
  10. Love the sounds of a construction site. My phone’s camera can’t do it justice but the exposed brick on the interior is coming along beautifully.
  11. AKA the Strawberry thing 😂. Love Dave Portnoy’s pizza reviews, thank you for sharing!
  12. Am I reading this right? The pavilion will have increased height and a water feature at street level? From what I pictured before to what I picture after reading that I view that as a big win to the urban landscape.
  13. Cleveland recognized here as one of America’s top river cities. https://www.americanrivers.org/2021/08/your-pick-for-americas-best-river-towns/
  14. Did you intend for this to be placed in the nuCLEus thread?
  15. Welcome home 🇺🇸⚓️
  16. Yeah that does make some sense, I’d be curious to see more detailed data. It would seem that 5-6 neighborhoods are booming, at least anecdotally, with a handful of others that are quite stable. I hope that Cleveland’s future mayor is up to the task of growing those neighborhoods in decline.
  17. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Cleveland’s GDP is #1 in the state, Downtown Cleveland is the #1 job hub in the state and University Circle (along with Fairfax) is #4. Even though it didn’t feel like Cleveland was truly recovering from the Great Recession until 2015, how is it the city continues to lose population at this rate?
  18. Here’s hoping Big Red’s hiatus is a brief one.
  19. Dan Whalen and Harbor Bay continue to impress me. Loved Intro before, love it even more now! That’s 150 more jobs than I expected that this project would create.
  20. A headline like that wouldn’t get cle.com their click quota.
  21. That’s pretty cool to think about, hopefully nuCLEus can push us past Minneapolis in that category.
