  1. I don't know much about soccer, but it seems reasonable that a MLS Next Pro team, especially an independent one in a relatively major market like ours, could eventually be upgraded to full MLS status. Especially as the sport grows in popularity. Every major city around us has a MLS team already- Columbus, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati. I think Indianapolis has a USL team. Also, do MLS and NFL teams share stadiums? And if so, could this be a part of the Haslams plan for a new Browns stadium? It sounds like there's already some relationship between the Haslams and the new MLS owner.
  2. The zipline at the MLB All Star game (2018?) was a lot of fun!
  3. Who wouldn't love a view of the backside of that billboard? Lol
  4. Did I hear correctly? Biden to visit Lorain "shipyards" during his visit tomorrow? Who knows, it could be to make some sort of an announcement.
  5. Awesome! So the entire tower will be operated by Marriott?
  6. I agree. That was my thought as well, but then there is this pie chart showing that the Bartlett Corp is focused on two dry docks and a depot...
  7. https://www.bartlettmaritime.com/ Jw, why does their site say full implementation of "the plan" would mean 41,000 jobs?🙃
  8. another thought: bringing the subs to the interior for repair probably lessens their exposure to attack.
  9. No doubt this is the best economic news our of Lorain county in memory. https://www.bartlettmaritime.com/ Check out these employment figures of the other four Navy shipyards. Leads me to believe 3-4k jobs could grow significantly over time. I agree that on the surface this sounds politically motivated, but maybe they are after the underutilized skilled trade labor found in our part of the world. They cite a shortage of skilled labor as one of the major problems the industry faces.
  10. Big news: https://www.morningjournal.com/2022/01/27/mayor-jack-bradley-u-s-navy-yard-could-locate-in-lorain/ An agreement to bring a U.S. Navy repair facility could open this year in Lorain if the White House approves the plan, said Lorain Mayor Jack Bradley. If the project gets the nod from President Joe Biden, groundbreaking could begin in October and will add between 3,000 and 4,000 jobs to the city, Bradley told reporters Jan. 27 during a news conference on the Zoom platform.
  11. Turn the bridge into an elevated park with public elevators/stairs on either end.
  12. Enjoy. Found these posted to a group I follow on Facebook. Taken from Key yesterday.. Source
  13. And he paid 248,200 for it about four years ago...
  14. it's safe to say impact of these projects together would nearly equal that of shw hq. 22 off to a great start! The peices are really coming together now.
  15. Has anyone done a rendering of what this will look like from, say, e9 and euclid?
  16. Nice. It seems SHW is maybe trying to get out ahead of this looming "hyper-inflation".
  17. My real estate agent called about the Bailey Bridge townhomes about 3 weeks ago - Only one unit had sold in the 3 months they'd been on the market. It didn't inspire my confidence in the project's future. Add in the fact that it's across from the scrap yard- I decided to pass. Hopefully I'm wrong.
  18. Yah but taxes.. we're definitely not comparing apples here after the 15 year abatement is factored in. Edit: 5,500 in annual taxes comes out 400/mo on a mortgage which makes the payment on these comparable to that of roughly a 200k house in suburban cuyahoga county.
  19. This article on Crain's doesn't appear to be paywalled. Looks like a huge expansion. Article: https://www.crainscleveland.com/arts-entertainment/rock-hall-names-practice-architecture-and-urbanism-design-expansion Pics: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1meV9IQGzxvV5umyACNTlCeZBy1rXPJha
  20. Could this ^^ be related? I think It's adjacent to the plaza.
  21. It wouldn't shock me, we're in the middle of a Walmart blackhole here (that's not a bad thing). Two Target stores within 5 minutes, but the nearest Walmart is 15 mins away. Between Lakewood/ Rocky River/ Fairview and WP the population and demographics are there.
  22. FWIW, I've had two mail offers to buy my Kamms house this summer as alone. Last year, I had one offer. I'm near Impett Park.
  23. ^ a rooftop like that would be SO epic!
