Interesting. I was just confused because the Wiki entry for it says it's been around since 1933.

    315 didn't exist then?
  3. And, while on the topic of big things happening: Gene therapy company secures largest series B financing in Ohio's history A Grove City gene therapy company has raised $120 million in series B financing, which is the largest such round in Ohio's history. Forge Biologics, which launched in July 2020, secured financing led by Boston-based RA Capital Management and New York-based Perceptive Advisors. Other investors include Columbus-based Drive Capital, Chicago-based Surveyor Capital, a Citadel company; New York-based Octagon Capital and London-based Marshall Wace. 4. Seems like only a matter of time before we get something big here. And, like they said, even with the Apple decision, they will still be looking to build more offices eventually and we'll obviously be on the short list. A few other good quotes from the article: About 15% of business attraction and retention projects that One Columbus is actively pursuing each involve more than $500 million in capital investment and at least 750 jobs, "I can’t think of a time when we’ve had more significant investments being considered." "I want to bet on places that are growing and laying the foundation for the modern economy – and Columbus is one of those places, no doubt about it."
  5. But.... we're replying to your comment where you said that Columbus can't get to 1 million residents because it is "built out." This is wildy incorrect. There are limitless development opportunities within Columbus, still. As @jonoh81said, Linden alone could go for decades without breaking a sweat. If Columbus doesn't get to 1 million residents, it will be for a different reason than us being "built out."
  6. Nope. I can't see them either. Just a big minus sign.
  7. The amount of potential in just these three images alone is insane.
  8. For a starter, just drive around the entire near east side for a tiny fraction. The infill happening over there right now is insane. Hell, you just commented about that in that thread. There are TONS of random grass lots all over the place over there that will all see apartments and infill housing. Then drive down Main towards Bexley and see all the blight ready for redevelopment when they choose the east west corridor project. What about Franklinton? Tons of huge empty lots and blighted buildings. Downtown? Swaths of parking lots prime for redevelopment. South Columbus? So much potential. Easton and Polaris areas have tons of open space still left to densify. Columbus is nowhere near maxed out. It's honestly hard to answer your "where" question because the answer is literally "everywhere."
  9. As did California, even though they gained 2 million people in the decade. New York lost a seat by 89 people.
  10. It wasn't undercounted. It was underestimated. The yearly estimates actually were around 100,000 people too short. So the official census count was higher than expected. Now, everybody here is trying to figure out where exactly in Ohio those extra 100,000 people are.
  11. @jonoh81you were pretty close with your state level prediction. What is your MSA prediction?
  12. Tower crane base at Gravity 2.0.
  13. Now that we see the state population was underestimated, any updated predictions for the Columbus metro?
  14. Relative to other states in terms of percentage growth. Personally, I never understand why that metric is so important. You have a state like North Dakota that grew by 15%. But, they also have a population under 1 million. So, a small raw increase in people leads to a larger percentage increase for them even though we gained twice the amount of people.
  15. So, they're working on the extension of Yard St past Goodale. I'm not really sure what the vertical building is.
  16. Here are estimate release schedules: https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/popest/about/schedule.html 2020 Census important dates: https://2020census.gov/en/important-dates.html
  17. NIMBYs won't like this. The entire parking lot is now fenced off and new signage is up advertising the development.
  18. Encova confirms they are rebuilding the apartments that burned down. The other "one of two complexes" they mention in the article is the CDDC affordable housing complex mentioned earlier in this thread: Burned Topiary Park apartments to rise again, one of two complexes planned on the park Encova received permission in the fall to demolish the charred remains and rebuild, but after removing the remains, it was mum about its plans. On Thursday, it confirmed that it will rebuild the apartments, though company officials are still discussing the design of the complex, said spokesperson Casei Phillips. 19. Somebody on reddit pointed out that it's getting grass on 4/20. Coincidence?
  20. Lol I didn't care if it was blocked or not, I was just joking around. I thought it was funny because you could still see the entire picture and name.
  21. Not gonna lie. That was a pretty poor effort on hiding that guy's name. lol Edit: ok, you edited it, so now I look dumb lol
  22. Wait. Are they celebrating a parking lot? Imagine being happy about having a parking lot to look at. At least most of the comments on that post are against it and saying that page does not represent how everybody feels.
  23. That's the location of this project from the Weinland Park thread:
