The building that has topped out on the Peninsula is a steel frame box where every floor is the same from ground to top. See my above comment to understand why this would rise more quickly than a building that has complex engineering needs at different levels.

Define "moving slow." If all you care about is vertical progression, then sure, it will currently seem like it is "moving slow." At the start, they spent months doing foundation work underground before anything was visible above ground. It felt like it was "moving slow" but there was a ton of work happening to prepare the building to rise. The same is true now. A ton of work is happening, but vertical progression is currently "moving slow" because there is so much work to do at these levels. As others have mentioned, once you get to the cookie cutter, repetitive upper floors, vertical progression will happen more quickly because there is less to do at each level.

Was there ever any movement on phase 4H? Looking at the I-70/I-71 Downtown Ramp Up page, it looks like the High St bridge replacement is still part of phase 4B that is scheduled to take place from 2023-2026. It would be awesome if the High St bridge actually started with phase 4R that is scheduled to start later this year according to the Ramp Up page.

TH3BUDDHA replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionDuring my walk, I noticed some new fencing on the Giant Eagle lot. It's not around the whole property, just the backside and a little ways up the side along Jaeger St as shown in my picture.- Columbus: Downtown: The Assembly (Former Kroger Bakery)
Looks like we have our answer: Plan Calls for 448 Apartments at Kroger Bakery Site A plan to transform the former Kroger Bakery site into a 448-unit residential development has been submitted to the Historic Resources Commission. The two existing buildings on the site would be renovated, and three additional apartment building would be constructed around them on what is now a large surface parking lot. https://www.columbusunderground.com/plan-calls-for-448-apartments-at-kroger-bakery-site-bw1- Columbus: Housing Market / Affordable Housing
Thought you guys might like this video on Columbus real estate from a real estate investor. He analyzes data at specific areas and even goes down to the zip code level at one point showing that the Old Towne East zipcode was a top 10 zipcode for the entire country for appreciation. It's actually insane how much things have appreciated there.- Columbus: Polaris Developments and News

Yea, looking at this angle really shows the potential for the cleared out land and the triangle, as well as the area just north of the stadium. It can all even be connected to The Reach and White Castle HQ under 670.- Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
TH3BUDDHA replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt's a little blurry, but crossposting the Hilton Construction cam image from the Crew Stadium thread this morning that shows this cleared out land along Vine. This angle really shows the potential for some big development on that parcel, the triangle between the tracks, and the land north of Crew Stadium that can all be tied to The Reach under 670.- Columbus: OSU / University Area Developments and News
TH3BUDDHA replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe rendering shows green space along the river east of Olentangy River Rd. Currently, that's a parking lot. The bid doesn't mention it, but I wonder if that is part of this? Hopefully.- Columbus: OSU / University Area Developments and News
TH3BUDDHA replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionWhat exactly does this entail? I saw this work going on and didn't actually know what they are doing.- Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
TH3BUDDHA replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionDid we actually ever see the "more detailed" renderings that got approved in March for this building? The February approval that cleared demolition was conditional on more detailed plans. Is there a better rendering somewhere?- Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
TH3BUDDHA replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYea, that's what I thought, too. I debated posting on here in case it was just some roadwork, but I noticed that the CU article from February said that "The vote to approve the project also clears the buildings for demolition, but is conditional on the applicant returning with more details on materials." And they got the more detailed plans approved in March. So, seems like they could just be moving really quickly on this one. Things are starting to heat up around town and it's getting pretty noticeable.- Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
TH3BUDDHA replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionLooks like demolition for this is about to begin. New barriers and signs are up closing the right lane and the sidewalk is closed in front of the building.- Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Looks awesome. It sounds extremely smooth. Will these be pretty smooth rides? I was actually a bit surprised at how turbulent the ride could feel when getting up to full speed out in no man's land in the midwest. And that was half the speed as this. Not a ton of train experience, so that may just be normal. I imagine that there is a difference in track maintenance for the different routes.- Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
No problem. @KJPexpands way better in his post, too. I definitely want to ride the NE corridor at some point or, fingers crossed, the 3C corridor.- Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
TH3BUDDHA replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSo, according the the CU article, this is the same developer that made the proposal along 5th immediately to the south of this. I wonder if this will affect that proposal? Here's the CU article: https://www.columbusunderground.com/godman-guild-to-move-sell-weinland-park-site-to-developer-bw1 Here's the article for the proposal along 5th immediately to the south: https://www.columbusunderground.com/new-six-story-building-proposed-in-weinland-park-we1- Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
That being said, I think the 3 C corridor would be a much more practical and different experience than my experience across the country. It would feel more similar to the Amtrak routes along the east coast where the corridors are densely populated with more regular schedules and usage. - Columbus: German Village / Schumacher Place Developments and News
