  1. Somebody that directly benefits from limited apartment units in the market and home prices staying high in this area fighting against more apartment units? Hmmmm. ?
  2. Ok. I'll let other people sort that stuff out. Is there anything wrong with the actual food?
  3. No. They were set to open up in the spring, but they've been on hold during the pandemic. Also, what didn't you like about it? The food? Atmosphere? I've never been to it up in Cleveland and I've been looking forward to it opening.
  4. According to a post on Reddit, there is an eviction notice on the 800 N. High Builidng where Moxy Hotel is. There is speculation that it is to Townhall, the Cleveland restaurant opening in the ground floor, but I found the original Instagram post and the OP said that Townhall responded and it was the wrong address. I looked up WeWork and they actually are also listed as 800 N High. I'm wondering if this is actually to WeWork considering the current struggles with coworking.
  5. Northwest corridor survey: https://linkuscolumbus.com/nw-survey/?fbclid=IwAR3dN8A5UvL7A1NmC3uiN5A9sxAy4WFDMhL2vgvQVOlERGZ-eQdC2_gyTOg
  6. Wow. Even better. 5th is really starting to build up into a nice corridor.
  7. Obviously they'll need to reduce it because it will cast a shadow on campus. They'll be living in a total eclipse!
  8. Whoa. This thing is going to look massive from 315. The James looks tiny in that rendering.
  9. Hilliard developer planning $130M mixed-use project on I-270 outerbelt Equity Inc. plans to develop a 22-acre site along the 4300 to 4500 block of Trueman Boulevard, just south of its own headquarters and east of the highway. Termed TruePointe, the project would be one of the largest efforts in Hilliard's recent history. The developer plans 205,000 square feet of Class A office space, 16,000 square feet of retail space, 4,000 square feet of restaurant space and 334 multi-family units on the site, with a goal to create a walkable urban environment that hasn't been built in this part of the city, said Austin Wathen, senior vice president of brokerage and business development. Drawings show four-story buildings in the development. It would include 1,627 parking spaces – 750 in a garage and 877 surface spaces. 10. That bothers me so much whenever I drive by.
  11. I found a bit of info about it: "Across from its Standard Hall location, Corso Ventures is developing central Ohio’s first-ever full-service 110-unit apartment complex that will include a roof top pool/bar concept, a ground floor restaurant, whiskey lounge, barber shop and other amenities." Yeeeaaaa.... about that... "In redeveloping the Park Street area, Corso Ventures is working on a Marriott AC hotel with over 150 rooms, a rooftop bar and two restaurants on the ground floor." 12. Im not sure if we ever got any news on retail going in the 3rd and High building, but some signage just went up on the north end for a place called Whiskey Lounge by Corso.
  13. I will say this. As a young worker in software development, my company has gone fully remote for good. I'm not a huge fan and want to go back to an office setting at some point. I just like the social aspect of being in an office. There are people that I used to talk to daily that I meet with on zoom maybe twice a month now. This may affect my job search down the line. It will be very interesting to see how the "the pandemic will usher in an age of remote work" actually ends up playing out.
  14. This isn't a commentary on how successful Sherwin Williams is as a company. It's a commentary on what their future office needs will be. Those are different things. They very well may continue to rapidly increase their workforce. If much of that workforce is remote, however, it would affect office needs. That being said, I want to point out that I am making no commentary on what I believe will actually be built, as I have no knowledge or opinion on that.
  15. My friend lives in Schumacher Place near the hospital. I was driving down Livingston today and it looks like major ground has started moving on Research Building IV (6 in the diagram). In my picture, you can see Research Building III (5 in the diagram). In the aerial shot posted by @Columbolast month, it doesn't look like much had started yet.
  16. Columbus Business First had an article about it this week: $100M Upper Arlington project sets new timetable The $100 million Arlington Gateway project now expects to break ground in April of 2021. ... The Covid-19 pandemic has been a headache, but hasn't been a major delay for the project, Kass said. The development team been working through complexities with the city, multiple landlords and major neighboring parties, while also securing financing. Detailed architectural planning starts in September, Kass said. more here: https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2020/08/14/100m-upper-arlington-project-sets-new-timetable.html
  17. At first, I mistook the Ohio Health office as the Nationwide office in Grandview Yard.
  18. Aren't they supposed to demolish that other garage and start the tower shortly after this garage is finished? It doesn't seem like that is all that far away
  19. Not the greatest pictures, since I was driving, but several days ago I passed by Founders Park and there was a small crane up.
  20. Is there a specific facebook group or something? I'd love to read those comments
  21. Is there any sort of planned timeline for the buildout of this?
  22. Can somebody explain the hate for skywalks on the forum? Is it an aesthetic thing? Because I can understand that. Or, are people worried about street foot traffic? Because I don't understand that as much. If it's a foot traffic thing, the people that walk right from their car on the 5th floor of the garage to their apartment are going to do that even if they have to go down 5 floors, walk outside for 30 seconds and then go back up 5 floors. I don't see the benefits really.
  23. Yea, I always wonder about that land and if it was mentioned in any of the Bridge Park plans. Definitely prime for development. Isn't there also some land south of the traffic circle that they also plan to develop?
  24. That doesn't explain your thumbs up to CLENYC's comments in this thread. They're expressing the same exact things I did in that other thread but not getting any negative responses. But, whatever. ?‍♂️ I don't at all. I was taken aback by the attack on my friends in the other thread, which was the true "trolling, fighting and taking threads off topic." I didn't have any idea that I was saying anything inflammatory. I was just sharing experiences of people leaving larger cities for smaller metro areas, as you are doing here. I don't have anything against you and only got defensive after that attack. I apologize for any personal retaliatory attacks I made.
