  1. Nice article. I was wondering if you could just elaborate a bit. Would you consider the people you discuss in the article and people like CLENYC "snowflakes" for deciding to get away from larger city life? CLENYC "fled New York City finally after many years there" and said that they will have a "short term stay in Cleveland but may be longer in the metro area" since they need to "decide if city-urban living is what I want anymore at all." I'm just curious that, here, you seem to be understanding of people deciding to leave cities for various reasons, but when I mentioned that my friends were considering doing the same in moving from the Chicago metro, you attacked them and called them "rural snowflakes." I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on the differences. Thanks. For reference, here was your other comment:
  2. I mean, I don't disagree that the connections in the area are bad. We did that when we decided to have two highways intersect at one of our cooler natural features. That being said, given what we are currently working with, I was simply disagreeing that the bridge accomplishes "almost nothing." I think it does slightly improve the mess over there for now. I agree that there needs to be more work in the future and I think we will see that come to fruition as it builds up.
  3. Are you aware of the Olentangy Trail ramp at Goodale? https://www.columbusunderground.com/goodale-bike-ramp-set-to-open-soon-bw1 I'm asking because, if you are, I'm confused by this comment: "I hope that this little park becomes an spur for extensions north to Goodale." The new pedestrian bridge accomplishes exactly this by connecting Nationwide Blvd on the east side of the river to the trail on the west. Now, by simply crossing this new bridge, anyone on Nationwide will easily be able to walk a bit north and then up that ramp to Goodale and be directly in front of the apartments at Reach.
  4. I mean, even if they did absolutely nothing else, this seems to accomplish at least a few things to me. This gives a much easier path to walk from Grandview Yard to the stadium by jumping on the trail at Goodale and then walking to this bridge. This will also give access to the White Castle area and the new Grandview Yard stuff coming to the south of Goodale. I think this could actually also give a better walking path than Neil to people in Harrison West. It gives much easier access from CoverMyMeds new HQ and any new development over in Franklinton because you can jump on the path at Souder and just walk a bit to the bridge, regardless of the crappy at grade crossing at Spring/Long. Finally, and probably the main reason for it, is to give the new residents in Confluence Village access to the path. That being said, they already have plans to extend the path on the Arena District side of the river underneath Spring Long and connect to the riverfront downtown.
  5. Looks like @CMHOhiobeat us both to it in that thread
  6. Damn. You beat me to it. I was going to post this article in the Millenial Tower thread and ask if it justified moving it out of the dead projects section lol
  7. Not sure. But there IS a sign on the building advertising it with the rendering and a number to call for office space.
  8. It's also crazy to me how close it sits to 315. Seems like it would be pretty noisy having one of those back corner rooms right on the highway.
  9. But, I don't wanna wait 20 years! ? Can't we just do it in like 5, instead?
  10. OSU is partnering with COhatch to make a digital co-working space in the Gateway District: Fast-growing Columbus coworking company teaming up with Ohio State on tech-focused 'digital flagship' space COhatch plans to take over and renovate the former Aveda Institute at 1581 N. High St., across the street from the Gateway Film Center in the University District. It will become an 8,000-square-foot "digital flagship design lab" specializing in serving technology startups in partnership with Ohio State University. 11. Didn't somebody here report those issues to the city and they actually got reviewed?
  12. How does land ownership work with things like this? Is it similar to air rights? Does the city not own the underground land underneath the sidewalk?
  13. I know you're just guessing, but crazy it will end up being doublish this height. Gonna be awesome watching this go up.
  14. How tall would you say the crane is currently?
  15. I really hope we can get a mural on that wall
  16. I was just driving across town on 670. The crane isn't done yet, but it is up above the existing Hilton and is VERY visible from 670.
  17. Someone on Reddit posted an image of the crane going up:
  18. Whoa now. They have the Pumpkin Show down there.
  19. Even more good progress news for today! I've driven by there a few times recently waiting for some movement and had always been disappointed.
  20. I was interested in how he brought up that people mention that there isn't a strong market for condos here. Haven't the Arena District condos performed pretty well?
  21. Yea, can we also hurry and get Scioto Peninsula and Gravity 2.0 started now, please?
  22. I was going to comment asking how likely it is that we'll actually see this get built, so it's good to hear this.
  23. This crane getting delivered to the site and a new tower proposal. This randomly became a great news day for Cbus development. I've been craving it.
  24. With this proposal, and all of that in mind, I wonder if it will encourage the Capitol Square proposal to look at moving forward soon. I believe they were looking for a Q1 proposal, but then delayed it with the pandemic. If they see other movement, maybe it will give more confidence. The article mentions that Schiff is very confident about the finances for this building.
